What wallet do you carry?

I don't know...Bosca is some great tough stuff, especially for the price (when compared to Coach mind you). I would still be carrying my THE Wallet if it hadn't been stolen last April. I bought another, but I just don't carry it like I carried my other one. If in 10 years, the forums are still up and running, I'll be looking for your SpecOps review!

Well, the "THE Wallet(s) arrived today and and I can give at least a preliminary report.
At first,I was somewhat alarmed at the size of the wallet. It's larger than anything of a "wallet" size than I have been used to carrying in the past.
I got past that and transferred my various licenses, documents, etc. to it and hit the road.
I have so far I've found that it fits into all pockets, including jeans front and back pockets and even sport jackets vest pockets. Maybe it was designed with these parameters in mind? ;)
Obviously, this wallet is built to virtually indistructible standards,so it will be around for some time to come.
So far, I like it. It has lots of room for everything that you would have need to stick into a wallet--even a real small gent's type folder.
At a very moderate price, I'd not hesitate to commend it to all.

I never had a problem fitting it into any of my pockets either, although I never wore it with a suit. If you think that the Spec Ops is tough, check out the PUG. The material seems even tougher albeit the wallet isn't as compact as THE Wallet (imagine that ;) )

I used to carry a Coach wallet I was very fond of, until it slipped out of my pocket and got lost somewhere  . I guess I deserve it for carrying it in the front pockets of khakis, but I hate carrying a wallet in my back pockets. I replaced it with an Eagle Industries cordura wallet. Simple, well-made, nondescript, even washable. And the surface is rough enough that it won't slip out, unlike leather which gets polished over time. Ironically I also carry a Mission wallet with a Fisher bullet pen, my cell phone, and change. So far it's stayed put :) .

I just received my Dopp Front Getaway Pocket wallet from Beltoutlet.com and love it.
I know that's an old post from back in February, but I really like the looks of that wallet.
My D&B wallet isn't going to wear out any time soon, but the idea of a package like that that woudln't be obtrusive in a front pocket is tempting.

If you happen to see this post, an update on how you like it after owning it awhile, and how it's held up would be appreciated.

Fossil front pocket wallet with credit card holder and money clip. It is my third one. I keep breaking the money clip but I love the way it hold my cards and cash. I rigged the clip this time so I think it will last a bit longer.

Check out Filson wallets. All of their products are just incredible. I hate having a lump in my back pocket, so I carry a "minimalist" Filson wallet - just an ID window and three card pockets - along with a money clip in my front pocket.

Moving to Gadgets & Gear ...

There are a couple of recent wallet threads you might have a look at.

I have a THE wallet and like it, but I wish it weren't built for "Leftys" - it's backwards compared to all the other wallets I've ever carried...anyone else bothered by this?

Indeed. I have had the standard THE and now have the Jr. model. The Jr. model is very size efficient. And fits much easier into all my rear pants pockets. I' m getting use to it being a "lefty" wallet. No real problem. Putting it "upside down" in the pocket is not a problem. All contents stay put.

I've been carrying T.H.E. Wallet JR by SpecOps for over a year. Carries well and holds up like wrought iron. Well worth the pricetag.

Since this post, I've gone through quite a few wallets. I now cycle between a Louis Vuitton 10 CC wallet, a Ghurka 'gator wallet, and a Filson twill packer. Wallets can be just as addictive as knives, especially when trying to find the perfect fit. I haven't found it yet!

I have had it now for over 7 months and love it just as much as when I bought it. It's cowhide and pretty durable, not that it needs it in the front pocket. I think front pocket carry is the way to go. Somewhere I read about the strategy of carrying both a wallet (front pocket) and also a credit card holder (leather with a few large bills of currency) in the opposite pocket as a way to reduce the risk that if you lose one, the other (presumably the credit card holder) provides you a means of paying your bill on the ride home. Right now, the Dopp is plenty. Owen, if you want to read some reviews of other Getaway wallet owners, I'd suggest trying the www.ebags.com There are over 100 of them overwhelmingly favorable. But I would recommend www.beltoutlet.com when/if it's time to buy. For comparison, you could look at the Bosca weekend wallets. They come in leather, lizard, ostrich and alligator. The leather version is about $45 but isn't on ebags anymore. You can find it on other sites. The lizard and ostrich are around $120. The alligator is $300+. Thought about them. For value at around $20, I don't think you can beat the Dopp for sure functionality. Take care.

I know Jazzman quite well. Both of us go through wallets very often!
In my opinion, his Louis Vuitton is his favorite. Because of its price and history, it has become a pocket sized treasure.
It is so nice, that any self respecting "tuchus" would not be caught sitting on this wallet:)
Jazzman has recently gotten me into a Filson hipster type CC wallet in all bridle leather. We drove 150 miles to get it. It is very nice and the price is no more than the other beautiful wallets like Coach, Bosca, D&B, Orvis, etc.
A wonderful EDC. Your "tuchus" won't mind sitting on this one:)

Eagle Creek Tri.

Haven't made a dent in it for the last three years.

Except I don't know what I'll do now. Eagle Creek was on the same list supporting Kerry as Timmy Leatherman, Columbia, etc...

I have NO problem with anyone supporting their candidate of choice. It just galls me that they use their business name to support pols and then don't understand why customers get upset.

I used to use a cheap nylon wallet that I got for $10 but then my dad gave me his old, stained coach tri fold. Its so much nicer than my old one. Its about 8 years old, and except for the stains and darkeneing of the leather, its like new. Coach makes some really good stuff.

Bosca 10 pocket duofold. Great leather/ very durable, looking good after 3 years of every day use.

I think I would like to go back to front pocket carry though, so I'm going to get either a Bosca front pocket wallet or a Stingray one.
