What was the first and recently last knife you bought?

My first knife was a SAK in 1983, when I was 12. It still bounces around in my laptop bag/brief case.

Last week I got a Wolverine drop point skinner with an A2 blade, buffalo horn spacer, and ironwood handle. It is very beautiful, and I intend to give it to my Uncle as a birthday present.

My first knife was certainly some sort of Pakistani or Chinese flea market junk.

My most recent knife purchase was a Buck 110 that I got for $20 after $10 mail in rebate. :)

I don't know what the first one I bought was, but I do remember my first knife. It was an old Buck 110. My grandfather gave it to me, but would only let me use it when I was with him fishing or doing something around the house. I was probably 6 or 7 then. He let me take it home when he was fairly sure I wasn't going to do too much damage with it. He let me get cut a few times so I'd learn to respect it too.

I still have it, it needs an ass load of work because I've had it for 18 years and it was probably at least 10 years old or older before I got it.

The last knife I bought... a cheap Good Cook kitchen knife because I needed a new sharp kitchen knife (I sharpened my beloved old one to nothing over the years).

I don't know what my next purchase will be, I'm kinda looking at the Camillus Cuda Maxx bowie.

My first serious knife purchase was a Benchmade 530s from ebay. I've since traded it to another BFC member for a Camillus EDC that I'm in the process of selling to my friend.

The last knife I bought was a Benchmade 35-SPL from gfhoward :D

The last knife I drunkendly bought was a Calypso Jr.

I had my first knife when I was very young. I can't remember which it was--an old "advertisement" slipjoing form my grandparens' junk drawer, or a souvenier type sheath knife from a vacation driving around the US southwest. Came with a genuine leather sheath and beaded "Indian" embroidery. Cost 50 cents-- I remember that because my parents gave me a half dollar to spend on that vacation.

Last knife--that's easy. I was just at a show last Sunday, picked up a couple of antique slipjoints and a custom fixed blade.

1st knife- Still have the small "Sabre" lockback (Hong Kong). Came from a 50 cent bin when I was 8 or 9. 20 years of neglect and not a speck of rust. Now that's the sign of quality. ;)

Newest- SAK Rambler and the BM 635 I'm waiting impatiently for.

First: Victorinox Explorer for 10 bucks at a flea market. I was replacing the POS SAK knockoff my parents had gotten me for my birthday a few years back, which had broken about 5 different ways after a week running around in the woods after school with me. I think I was around 11.

Latest: Bark River Forager, the Brown Truck dropped it off on Monday.

Wow...the first knife I ever bought was a little lockback I got in Corydon, IN at some historic site. Cheap as hell, I think it cost 5 bucks, has dents in the blade from messing with it as a kid. The last knife I bought was a few nights ago, an SAK Recruit I now faithfully carry. Which is reminiscent of my second or third blade when I was a kid. A REALLY nostalgic purchase I must say and a good one. Sharp!! My wife of course didn't understand and got all huffy with me . Soon, I'll have a Becker Necker which I'm really looking forward to.

My first knife was a tiny Camillus scouts lock-back. Blue with the logo on the handle. Still have the knife in my drawers somewhere. The last knife I bought was my sebenza. It's currently in my pocket.

I can't remember what my first knife was, WAY too long ago. My latest is a Strider SnG. It hasn't arrived yet, the post office and customs are probably fighting over who is going to steal it.

First one I bought with my own money was an Old Timer (*sniff sniff :( ) Stockman at the age of 8 I believe. The 'last' (most recent) was a customized Sebenza. :)

First one I bought (my dad gave me a ton before that, which I still have) that I can remember was a Gerber bolt-action.

Latest is a Queen D2 cocobolo Whittler that's so new I haven't even had time to track down something to whittle. ;)

First was some black handled Cub Scout "official" knife with gold colored scout insignia in the center of the obverse handle:) . It had one fat blade, a smaller one, and an awl. That would have been in 1956.

My most recent purchase was a BM805 satin pe, won a few minutes ago in an online auction. Got a deal too, on a discontinued old fav. Whoppiee :D :D :D !!!

I guess it lends credence to the old adage "Bigger toys for bigger boys."

The first knife I bought was a $10 fixed blade at Canadian tire about 12 years ago.
Most recently at the end of january I got a Spyderco catcherman for slicing cheese & fruit.

The first knife I bought was some cheap, no name brand, at a flea-market. The most recent one I purchased was a Buck/Strider 880SP.

My first knife I bought was a $3.00 POS folder that literally fell apart after about five days. This was while just opening the thing to cut something.

That was around the late 80's. My last buy was a mini CQC7 from Emerson. I heard those things last a while ;)

I think the bug bit about 20 years ago, with purchase of a large Schrade drop-point lockback. Then I started to work for the shop where I bought it.

The next kicker was buying a Barry-Wood style folder from AG Russell, about 8 years ago. That just fed the rat.

The most recent purchase was (yet another of) Spyderco's Gunting. It's a real disease now--the EDCs are going to need their own box, apart from the collection pieces. I love it.

Best regards.

The first knife I ever bought myself was an Old Hickory carbon steel kitchen knife, and the last knife I bought was an old, but never used Schrade LB7.

Off-Topic:

Berzerker,

Just wondering, because of your name... "Berzerker".. Are you an Berserk fan to? (Japanese Manga) I just love Berserk, it's my favorite! This manga has it all knives, swords, throwers.. This manga really rocks big time! A must for all who love blades/knives IMO.
