What was your first Custom/Midtech/Expensive knife?

Benchmade model 42, back when I was a teen and knew almost nothing about knives except for balisongs, i knew it was a great knife.

Later I walked into a bladeshop and saw a CRK Neil Roberts Warrior and knew I had to have it.

Great thread.

My first midtech was a Les George VECP, and I still have it as my user.

My first custom? Will Zermeno Pointman which sort of left a bad taste in my mouth. The F&F sucked, off centered, and had IKBS but was as smooth as sandpaper :-/.
Wow did you at least get some sort of refund or compensation?

My first ever midtech was a HTM Gunhammer...and it was horse sh*te, returned that and got a ZT0561 instead which satiated me for a while.... A CRK Umnum was soon following, then a Hoback A10, then a Graham Razel GT...and now it's totally out of control with 4 custom orders at large to date....

My first and only custom knife is by Mr. Keith Coleman. It isn't my only expensive knife, at least by my standards, here is a photo of my new Sebenza.

Most expensive knife I currently own is a ZT 301, followed by a 561. It's looking like my first mid tech will be an old pivot Umnumzaan around the beginning of the year, if I can find a good deal on one.

Not sure what this qualifies as... Semi-custom maybe?

Ritter Mini-RSK1: $112
WilkinsGrip BMG Mini: €100 (~$130 USD)
Ti low-rider clip: $10
Total: $252

first expensive knife - ZT 301 (later sold it - not a flipper fan)
first high falutin' knife - small sebbie
first one close to custom - William Henry B12

My first expensive one (for me) was the Blackhawk MOD Nightwing which I paid just under $200 for. Then just recently I bought a ZT 0560 which I love for $210 new.

First expensive knife: ZT0301 I got from Dave and he gave me a hell of a deal.
No midtechs or customs yet. Don't have that kind of dough at the moment. (Stuck on Emersons)

The first custom knife I ordered was an Alan Davis lefty flipper. The first custom knife I actually received was a Jason Stout lefty tac wharnie (ordered it after but he had a shorter wait time).
