I had never really been into knives. At all. I thought those that played with knives were foolish and didn't really see an appeal to it. Well, about a month ago, I bought a balisong from Taiwan, a very cheap 10 dollar one. I started flipping. The next thing I know, I have a Benchmade 32 coming in the mail. So I'm patiently waiting, watching youtube videos on knives and all of a sudden, I see the leek. I thought it was a switch blade at first, but with more and more research, I realized it wasn't. It was legal, in California. Man, I've never typed my personal information that fast before. My BM 32 arrived 2 days before my Leek and man, I haven't touched the 32 in a while. The leek was my first Kershaw knife, and it's been my EDC for a while.
What was your first Kershaw knife?

Model 2002 - Rosewood Inlays.
I wish I still had that knife. They seem very hard to come by.
Only seen a couple on the Bay. Missed one. Outbidded on another.

The Large Liner Action 2420, still in my EDC rotation after about 15 years !!!

a factory second blur/non-second blur. both with 440A. the factory second now serves with a friend from college. It's now his first Kershaw :D :D :D the other fights to get into the EDC rotation.

Kershaw Amphibian with the leather sheath, probably bought it at least 20 years ago. Still have it. Still think it is a great looking boot knife.

The Random Task was my first Kershaw. I got it close to ten
years ago. Awesome knife!! I haven't bought anything but
Kershaw since.

Mine was a 1640 Vapor; a birthday gift from my daughter. I loved it at first sight. It was my primary EDC for years. It saw much hard use and never, ever let me down. Even though I've now retired the knife from EDC I still love it just as much. A great knife IMO.

I'm pretty new here, and I figured this would be a good first post to document my beginning addiction. My first was the Leek, plain edge, with the stainless handle. It was promptly "borrowed" by my girlfriend who refuses to give it back, with rationale such as "it's cute, you're supposed to give me cute things" and "it's a knife that actually fits in my pocket".
I now have an Oso Sweet and am deciding on my next purchase, despite the fact that I really can't afford it (though the Speed Bump is just begging to be bought...)

I don't remember the name or number, but it was around 1978 or so. It was a gift from a relative. From memory, it looked a lot like the 2605 lockback. I have no idea where that knife is now...:(

For the newer models, my firsts were 2 MC's (one in TI/ZDP) and 2 Mini Mojo's on the same day. A day that will live in infamy...

mine was a Rainbow Chive, still need a Rainbow Leek and Groove. As soon as a Rainbow Shallot is made, man what a pretty knife that will be.

It's crazy how fast someone can get hooked on knives, especially kershaw knives. I love them, ever since that one leek, i've been saving up to get a scallion, chive, and a blur. I just got my skyline that I bought from one of the guys here on this forum. Man, I don't know how i ever lived without a kershaw knife in my pocket. ;)
