What was your first Kershaw knife?

My first Kershaw was a Ken Onion designed 1510 Random Task that I picked up about 11 years ago. I've since added several other Kershaws to the mix, but the Random Task is still my favorite. It was MIA for a couple of years until recently, but is now back as my primary EDC. Ken Onion for President!

My first was a chive. It was my EDC for a couple of years. Before I retired, I was a Postmaster in Washington state so it spend a lot of time opening boxes and cutting paper. It was easy to sharpen and never caused "old ladies" to faint in the lobby when I helped a customer with needed cutting....... I still carry it when we are going out to dinner or shopping.

My first was a Black and Gold Leek. Carried it for about a year and retired it. I bought a second one so I could have one "minty." The Leek is still my favorite folder of all time.

I fell for Kershaws 20 years ago. My first one was a Special Agent, quickly followed by a Black Horse. I bought them both off my neighbour.

looking into ordering my first Kershaw tommorow (sorry for the thread jack) i'm getting either walmart tanto blur or an all black shallot.......i don't think either is a bad choice./..

Hi, new lurker here. Anyways, my first Kershaw was a Rainbow Leek. My dad gave it to me a few years back and it's still great. No problems at all with the finish or keeping an edge.

Then about a month ago I figured I'd get a bigger Kershaw for outdoorsy stuff and ended up getting a straight edged Cyclone. The finish on the black anodized aluminum seems to be starting to wear off though since the knife clips in the same pocket as my keys. I'm thinking about Gunkoting those aluminum grip panels now.

Welcome footcheese! The Rainbow Leek is a great starter. As far as the Cyclone finish wearing off, here's a few pics comparing my lightly used Cyclone to my Friend's "Well Used" Cyclone after two years of EDC.

Norell's Moly Resin would be a good finish for the scales also. I've used it on a couple of rifles, and it's tough as any finish I've encountered. Good luck.

My first was the Liner Action 2420. The aluminum handles made it very light for it's size and the kraton inserts offered good grip. Plus the knife made a really nice, loud clack when I flung it open. Ahhh, memories.
