This was my first knife ever. Cheap Maxam linerlock, but never dulled and never broke. I beat this up for 3 years before I actually
got into getting more knives, and didn't take care of it at all. It's pulled nails, scraped rust and paint, carved plastic, and everything
else you shouldn't do to a folder. WHAT'S YOURS??

Ah man, I haven't thought about my first knife in a long time. It was a little swiss army pen knife with two spear point blades. I remember being so damn proud of that thing. I carried it around for years. It's gone now. I think my ex brother in law has it at this poiint. I woudn't mind getting that knife back some day, but I know that's just not going to happen. Still, I remember it perfectly. If I close my eyes, I can pretty much see it there. Good times.

Mine was an old two blade barlow
That I bought at a local flea market
When I was about 8 or 9 years old
I was with my grandparent and I
Remember them giving me five bucks
That I could spend on anything I
Wanted so I narrowed it down to
One of those overpriced cheap made
Toys or the barlow and a soda ! I
Think I made the choice ! I wish I still
Had it I give it to my friend when they
Were moving out of state when I was 12 !

Same here.... no name 2 bladed barlow style slip joint knife. My Grandpa gave it to me when I was eight or nine years old.

Mine was a Swiss army knife that my grandpa gave me when I was about 8. A few years after that he gave me a Buck 303.

Man. The first knife. Which was only like 9 years ago or so when I was ten, was an Imperial SAK styled knife. The first knife that got me into nice knives. That was a Boker candystripe trapper.

Not my photo, but mine was a Schrade 50t that was confiscated by my dad when I was 13 and later lost in a house move.

My first knife was a red Victorinox Alox Secretary that my grandpa gave to me, he got it from a Cryovac rep when he worked in a meat packing plant. I was probably no more than 4  wish I had that knife now...

Mine was a Swiss Army Knife they were giving out at TravelCenter to anyone coming into the store... I think It was TravelCenter, when I was real young, went in there with my parents when they were real into RV-ing and I went with them everywhere. Promptly lost it... : /

The Switch blade in the middle is my very first knife ever. It belonged to my older brother; he never let me hold the thing. It had a forbidden mystic to it that obviously made me want it more. One time my brother got in to big trouble and I covered for him, in gratitude he left this thing in my room. Its been mine ever since !!!!!:D

Parents bought me my first knife as a souvenir from my first trip to Disneyland. It was a small keychain folder with the magic castle on one of the scales. Anyhow, in the car on the way home, within minutes of leaving the park and seconds of first holding it, I found out what knives are capabile of (the hard way); carved a deep inch-long "J" shaped cut into the pad of my index finger. Nearly 40 years later, still have a prominent scar - the best souvenir a boy could have! Love my Disney scar.

My first knife was in the 2nd grade and was a very small Imperial slippie (maybe 2" long). Got a little older and realized I couldn't do anything with it other than open envelopes. Got a larger $1.00 Imperial folder at the old 5&10. I finally got my first real knife which was a Case Barlow (from the hardware store) which I considered very expensive around age 10-12 because I could not put much force onto the small Imperial. My brothers and I spent a lot of time in the woods and along the stream. Knives were very important to our way of life. We all learned how to use a knife and cut ourselves a few times.
