What was your first knife ever?

Buck Cadet.....
Not what got me into knives though, that was a BUCK 286k. (Large Bantman)

No I'm not a huge buck fan.:)

a small case stockman with 2 broken blades and red mother of pearl scales, i found it in the summer between first and second grade.
no idea where it went, i had it up until 5th grade i know that. i got in trouble(paddled) for carving my initials on the inside of my desk.
there must have been 20 sets of initials in there.

Same here.... no name 2 bladed barlow style slip joint knife. My Grandpa gave it to me when I was eight or nine years old.

Same here but I was 6 or 7 tops, Grandpa died before I turned 8. Lost before I turned 10. :(

The first knife I purchased was an Imperial hollow shell Barlow - brown sawcut derlin. That was back in 1967 (lawn mowing money). I still have it today.

The first one I remember was when Dad came out of the hardware\feed store with two of those Purina(red&white checkered) knives. I was about six in 1959. I don't remember who made it, but Dad liked Schrades.

This when I went to Niagara falls one summer... I was 7 or 8

The earliest knife I remember having is a Trim Trio. Anyone else old enough to remember these. It had a blade, screwdriver/bottle opener and a file/fingernail cleaner and was no more than 2" closed. My father used to give these to me and my brother on a regular basis back in the 60's. We would loose them on a regular basis also. I doubt he paid more than a quarter for them back then. I haven't seen one in ages. I don't know if they are still made or not.

I also remember having a little knife that was shaped like a rocket.

No photo.
My FIRST knife (excluding for kitchen knives) was a Swiss Army Knife.
I bought it at the age of ......... 21.

Mine was a SAK, a camo tinker, that my dad gave me for Christmas when I was 7 or 8... I still have it. The very first knife I bought myself was a Bucklite with a 3in. blade and od handles. I have been through many knives since but those are 2 that I will take never let go.

when I was about 9-11, I was gifted some sheffield pos multool mini plier thing, i used to carry and fondle it alot, despite the stiff tools. First knife I BOUGHT was a Victorinox cybertool 41

My mates & I bought these carbon steel stacked leather handled bowie/hunting knives from Coles Variety .That was in the 70s when they still sold guns and ammo . Back when a 13 yo kid could buy a huge fixed blade knife for camping no questions asked. Before Kmart took them over -even thouogh they still sold that stuff for a few more years . Not anymore.
.Then there was a vic alox single blade for school day usage. Then I got a Shelham Jap stilletto with a coffin type handle with green rubbery grips.
All have long disappeared.Wish i knew what happened to them.

Tiny, bone handled puukko somewhere under ten years old. I started whittling with it instantly, and of course I cut myself with it right off. :)
I hope I still had it, thought would certainly look cheesy now.

As far as i can remember, it was a Barlow "Electricians Knife" TL-29 (had to google it and got the TL-29 model number there). It was a simple drop-point main blade and a 'wire-srtipping' blade/screw-driver, but did the job. My first fixed blade was a Ka-Bar hunting knife - i think it had a 5" blade and stacked leather handle.

When I was four (1970), I bought a minature Bowie knife (2" blade) at a resort gift shop for about $3-5. I'm hoping to find it again someday when mom moves out of the house I grew up in.

My first one I think was a super cheap small fixed blade with a compass in the handle and beads on the sheath. The year was about 1963. Lost it after about a month down at the creek. After that I think my next was an Imperial folder with green plastic scales. That was a pretty good knife that I used for fishing and my first year or two of backpacking in junior high. Then in 10th grade (I think) my brother in law gave me a Buck 105 with a custom black sheath. Man was that a step up.
