  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What was your first knife?

That's a pretty cool story!

Thanks. I frequently recount the episode in response to questions from "other folks", as I literally EDC/open carry a pair of Kabar 3/4 Short Utilities.

Most of the time, when questions are asked, the questions I get are -

"Is that legal?" (open carry of FBs)
or
"Why 2?" This Q gets the story, followed by an explanation that it's not just operating machinery that may require ambidextrous access and use.
or
"What knife is that?" - I carry the all-black Kraton handled shorties as they blend in with the dark shirts and black dress pants I usually wear better.

SAK minichamp, it was a present for my first communion after a year of me begging for a knife

i think it was some gerber (maybe a paraframe) around ~8-9 years old, but my kershaw skyline is what really got me into it.
