what was your first knife????

i know this has probably been a thread several times but im fairly new here and was curious. my first knife was a cheap folder my aunt got me i mexico when i was ten. it had fake marble handles and was so dull i could hardly tell which side was the cutting edge. it was ugly but it started my love for knives.
 
Air SOG, fully serrated.

It took 3 months delivering papers, and having an older friend who worked at the knife store who could sell it to me (I was 14). If only it had a pocket clip, I'd seriously consider using it as an edc even today.

With it I also got the SOG foldout catalogue, and remember drooling over all those old school SOG's. I only wish there was a place to find knives like the Tom Cat with cocobolo scales, now that I finally have the means to afford such luxuries in under a three month span.
 
had a barlow style with what i remember to be masonite handles got it from a friend whos father worked at dupont.i guess it was from the tool room.

Swiss army knife my parents picked up for me in Switzerland. Tinker with my name engraved in it. Some lowlife stole it from our hotel room while we were at Disney when I was about twelve or so :mad:
 
My First knife i bought with my money was the buck strider 880tx, unfortunatly it was stolen 2 days ago at my job. Its really getting on my nerves.
 
The first one I bought myself was a Buck 110. I bought it at the ship's store on the USS White Plains in 1976.
 
My first knife was a swiss army tinker. It had black handels. I was 8 or 9 when I got it. I remember it wasn't long before the toothpick and tweezer were gone. Wish I knew whatever happened to that knife. I remember I got a swiss army mechanic model too that same year for christmas, along with a swiss army wrist compass. man that thing was big on my little kid wrist.... Didnt stop me from wearing it everywhere though. I had that mechanic till I graduated high school, then the lake of the ozarks took it on my senior trip. Wish I could find one of those compasses now.
 
My first knife was a Trim Trio, bought from a cardboard barbershop display, when I was about 8. Those were simple, inexpensive folders usually sold as personal grooming tools, and looked it, as Trim also made various nail clippers and such. Couldn't have cost more than a buck back in the 70s. Was actually a decent miniature multitool having a usable sheepsfoot blade, a nail file/cleaner, and bottle opener/screwdriver.
 
Swiss army knife, the huntsman model, all bright red. I thought it was about the coolest thing ever, it is still pretty cool now that I think about it.
 
A 1940s Scout Knife made in Germany given to me by my
Grandfather when I was around 7. Still have it.

Same for me, other then my grandparents bought it there.

I still have it in its own display case that sits on the shelf above my desk.
 
A yellow Case Fisherman. I didn't know it would be collectible someday - I wish I knew where it got to.
 
Don't know how long I've had it, a Cosi? From age 5, 6, or 7? No idea where I got it. From a dimestore?
 
I had a Schrade Old Timer slipjoint when I was a kid. The first one I bought myself was a CRKT K.I.S.S.
 
A Camillus Cub Scout Knife, at age eight, in 1962.

Still have it. It has hundreds of friends to keep it company now.
 
My first knife was a small fixed blade knife my father bought for me when I was about 5 or 6 years old. ( looked like Blub's knife above).
I lost it almost immediately and he bought me a larger one with a compass in the handle. That one was lost too...
I got another similar knife a few years later while visiting the Catskill Game Farm , I still have that one.
 
My first knife was a plain edge spyderco delica with the molded clip and the white box. The first knives I bought for myself were a couple of years later I bought a spyderco native and a benchmade 710 after saving for 2 months.
