what was your first knife????

A Mora with wooden handle, it's kind of a tradition that the kids get a Mora with a somewhat dulled edge on their fifth birthday.

First knife that could actually be used for anything was a Western W49 which I still use to this day :D

First knife I ever received was a Imperial Camp King. The one with the hollow metal shell plastic film covered handle scales. It was awful, it loosened up and developed blade play in no time flat, the scales loosened up the point one side fell off, and the blade was so soft that it would lose it's edge in just minutes cutting on anything short of hot butter. It was so bad, I used my Mom's kitchen knives to clean the squirrels I shot instead of the Camp King. I threw it away it was so bad. My father gave me his yellow handle Case trapper, and it was up up and away from there. I bought a Schrade 125OT one blade folding hunter when I was about 15, and used that as my main hunting and general purpose knife to go along with the trapper until I was about 21. I lost the Schrade after leaving it under my car's hood from cutting a new radiator hose to fit, then taking a test drive. :o I bought a Schrade Sharpfinger to replace the hunting knife function, and a Wenger SAK for tinkering around with. Eventually accidentally broke the Wenger, and had to do without for a while, as money was viciously tight during my mid 1990's time period. Had to sell most of my guns and stuff during that time, and I would rather not be caught in that situation again, ever. :grumpy: Bought a Case 75 CV stockman around 2002, then got hooked on nice knives, and been blowing money on them ever since. Have right at about 25 knives right now, and have had more, but did some trades and swaps. Still have the old yellow delrin Case trapper with it's well worn blades. Put it away for a keepsake and rememberance of times gone by.
