What was your very first knife?

My Dad gave me this knife when I was six. He told me that if he ever saw me use it as anything other than a tool, he'd take it away and I'd never see it again. I still have it. It's marked, Kent NY City. I think it came from a 5&10 cent store.

My first knife was a 4" Wire jack

Wow, . . . I got some sleep and looked at your photo again . . . very well done photo.
I'm impressed. Are you a photographer ? (it is painfully obvious I am not). I keep wanting to buy at least a light reflector thing so I can get, at least, an adequate illumination of my subject which I fail to do at every turn now. Phone with a flash you say ? . . . oh that's for all you modern uptown guys . . . I just have my old iPod touch from back in the dark ages. We had no flash way back then "And we liked it that way". Wy I remember walking to school through snow that was six feet deep . . . and . . .

Thanks for the compliment. I use and own a wide variety of cameras to take pictures of my knives. I use DSLR cameras. Smart phone cameras do a pretty good job in my experience, same can be said with a simple point & shoot camera also. The best advice I can give while taking pictures is be still & have good lighting. Instead of using a flash, try going outside & using the natural sun light.

Yep... and take more than a couple shots. Get rid of the junk pictures that clutter up your computer.
