What watch do you wear in a survival setting?

For me, I'm using my trusted Timex Iron Man.

It's a good, cheap basic watch. I don't know what else to get that would help in an outdoor scenario.

What kind of an advantage do you feel a watch gives you in a survival situation over not having one?

I was wondering this myself....
I luv my G Shock with solar and atomic clock signal receiver, but aint it
the watches with hands that you can use with the sun to find direction?

Automatic Marathon GSAR.. I haven't put on another watch since I've got it. I've changed bands a couple times, but that's it. It doesn't "wear" as large as I thought it would. I'm constantly bashing it into steel at work (in transmission substations) and haven't scratched the crystal. Not exactly cheap, but when you compare it's features against other Swiss automatics it is a bargain.

Yeah, but it's just as easy to do gross direction finding in other ways. I wear analog mainly because of my eyes and also because it is a lot quicker to read.

I'm right there with you, with the eyes:( I'm having to replace all the leaf /
semi buck-horn sights on my rifles with apertures (peeps).

I am just about always wearing this G-Shock:

I am an ocean go-er and this watch has never leeked on me in the water -even in good size surf. It is also really light weight and slender for a G-shock. Plus I can program it to forcast the tides all over the world. It isnt dead on, but it lets me know incoming vs. outcoming tide.

I also like a cheap casio I bought at Costco, but is is kind of heavy/ bulky

I wore a Timex Expedition for years (long enough to go through 3 batteries!) before it finally died a couple of months ago. My present watch is a Wenger SMT Design (Swiss) that looks remarkably similar to the Expedition. I'll let you know it can stand up to the same abuse as the Timex .... in about 9 years or so.

I usually wear my casio G shock when I am in the field, but for everyday I wear my new Seiko chronograph. I always wanted a watch like this and I found it for 50% off at a jewelery store. It is a little on the heavy side but it has an awesome look, it is all blackexcept for the hands. I will try to get a picture up soon.
