Thanks for the compliments on the watch. I've wanted a nice watch for a while. For some reason I have no problem dropping money on knives and guns, but I couldn't bring myself to spend on a watch. My wife got tired of listening to me him-haw about a watch and told me to pick one out for my birthday.

The Citizen Pro Diver bn0000-04h is the best watch I'll ever own. Until recently, I had been beating on this one almost daily since 2004, even to a depth of 130 feet. The abuse shows, but it still keeps perfect time.

I recently decided to relegate this loved companion to exclusive field duty and replace it with the same model, which was still available at retailers a year or two ago. Nope. They're all gone now.

The worn and abused watch is a great timepiece. You can get yours refinished for less than you think. It'll make you love it even more. I'm wearing mine now. I had it refinished a few years ago with newly polished case, bracelet, and new crystal. Great anniversary gift in 1999.

Really liking both of these I posted a couple days ago. They're the only 2 watches I have. Bulova Mariner Star Chrono and a Timex Expedition Chrono. Wearing the Bulova today. Had to make a new hole in the rubber strap of the Bulova because the last hole wasn't quite tight enough... close though. I have like 6.25"ish wrists but it's still odd since I've never had this issue. The Timex still has 3 holes left to go tighter at the position I wear that one. Whatever, no big deal. Made the new position and you can't even really see it since its rubber. Really nice looking watch though. I know its not even close to the value of the watches some of you guys got but its perfect for my budget and still nice. MSRP is $299 I believe, it was $215 OTD for me. Next watch will be a Luminox!

For the price of a Luminox, there are some pretty cool micro brands out there
Borealis Estoril and Lew & Huey to name a couple!

Thanks man! Definitely going to check them out and open to any suggestions! Someone also mentioned Isobrite so I've been looking at those too

Borealis is also tied to Prometheus, another outstanding micro brand.

This watch has kept the best time of any that I've ever own

I have been wearing an Seiko automatic for years but switched back to a quartz movement in this Jazzmaster for the same reason. I like a watch to keep real accurate time, and so far this one does.

That's a pretty one right there, and yes accurate is important, when I'm driving I'll listen in to the news at the top of the hour and there is always this Chime when it hits the hour and I check to see if the second hand also makes it at that exact moment and this watch doesn't wavier a bit. Other quartz movement watches I've own would gain or lose a few seconds, I am not sure if it is the mechanical parts that put a slight drag that makes it so, but, they all were not keeping as excellent time as this one...there, now I've gone and jinxed myself ;)

I need some advice...

I am in the market for a nicer looking quartz watch and I've come to two choices.

Obaku V171GMCJSJ
V171GMCJSJ_I.jpg

and the

CASIO OCEANUS OCW-S100-1AJF
20150331154911_boo2pldmt2b.jpg

Basically, I am worried about the Casio clashing with some of my clothing since it has a blue tint, but I love the materials and features of it (radio sync with atomic time, sapphire anti scratch, titanium bracelet, solar powered). The Obaku is a lot cheaper and has none of the features but I really like the look and design of it

You would get more advice with your own thread.

If what you really like is a dress watch with day and date complications on sub-dials at 3 and 9 o'clock, Citizen makes several:

http://www.citizenwatch.com/en-us/watches/watch-detail/?model=AO9000-06B

http://www.citizenwatch.com/en-us/watches/watch-detail/?model=AO9003-08E

and AO90003-16A which is out of their catalog but easy enough to buy online. They are solar powered, they look good with most clothing, and they sell for $130 or a bit less if you find them on sale.

If it matters, understand Borealis uses Chinese movements (Seagull, Hangzou, etc.), and that the movement is the most important component of any watch. The movement IS the watch (with a case crown, crystal attached).
