Vostok Amphibian 420526 "Steve Zissou Special"

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004) is well known to Russian watch collectors because every watch in the film is a Vostok. How could this happen? Costume designer Milena Canonero wrote to Vostok Watch Makers that Wes Anderson was producing a new film featuring Bill Murray and their world-famous timepieces. When the boys in Chistopol stopped laughing and picked themselves up off the floor, one of them checked the letter out and sent a box of watches. Bill got one with the funky anchor and ship's wheel, but he wouldn't wear the bracelet and Milena put it on a rubber diver strap. And I should be writing for The Hollywood Reporter.
