This week I've been wearing this Sandoz sub just for fun. This is the Hong Kong version. I have my own aversion to wearing a Rolex sub even though they are nice watches, but with this one on a gray ZULU strap it is a different look. It's not in my regular rotation but I wear it occasionally for a change of pace.

The Sandoz is a pretty nice watch on its own, especially considering its low price. The watch head is very similar to the Rolex as you can see in this photo. It comes with a nice oyster bracelet although the bracelet is not as thick as the real Rolex bracelet. The Sandoz is supposed to have an ETA 2836 movement, very similar to the very good ETA 2824 movement.

Nice Sandoz, great movement.

Here's my favorite watch, I wanted it for years and ended up liking the new design much better. Let me see if I ca find a pic of the in house movement. Which btw is no more accurate than the ETA's I own. Purty though.

Can you give your impression of the difference in size between the 2 brands? My wrist is 7.25" and I like the size of the Steinhart better.

So I suppose I have to post a relevant photo- not wearing this one right now but I will be next week.

If you look at the numbers the steinhart is a little more in every dimension: diameter, lug to lug, thickness, etc. when you add up all those little chunks of metal the watch has a much more heavy and chunky feeling, specially the bracelet which is 22 and every link thicker too.
In weight we are talking Rolex: 140-150 gr. Steinhart: 185-200 gr. more or less depending on the links removed, I have 7 3/4" wrist so very close to 200 gr.

It's been said already everywhere but Rolex managed to make the maxi case appear bigger than a usual 40mm watch. So the actual visual appearance on the wrist is not so different.
But the thinner(in thickness and width) oyster bracelet and the adjustable clasp make a world of difference on the perceived lightness.
These are more or less my impressions if you have any question feel free to ask details

The movement in the Steinhart is an ETA 2893-2 which has a diameter of only 25.6mm and a height of 4.1mm. A spacer must be used to put that movement in such a large case as the 42mm Steinhart case. The only reason the case is so large is marketing the fashion fad for large watches.
