that is an awesome collection. all heirlooms and everyone had a great watch in your family. thanks for sharing with us.![]()
I don’t believe I posted these here before, so forgive me if so…. These are all heirloom pieces to me, collected into one family photo. From left to right:
Rolex GMT Master II (early-mid 80s) - this was my father’s, which he bought from a close friend. Absolutely beautiful patina on this.
Seiko 6105-8009 (1968) - again, my father’s, and again, great patina on this, especially with the rarer radium lume that turns a bit of a tobacco color (the tritium turns more of a greenish)
Timex Electric (early 70s vintage) - my paternal grand father’s. Took it off the expansion strap, and on a black leather one, which gives it a great vintage look.
Unknown Pulsar - I know it was from one of my grandfathers, but not quite sure which.
Unknown Citizen (mid 90s I think) - this was my maternal grandfather’s. Your basic gold toned day/date.
Omega DeVille (early/mid 80s) - I remember my mother buying this for my dad as some sort of gift. I was somewhere around 8 or 10 at the time. This is the watch I really remember as my dad’s, even if he stopped wearing it after a while (battery is a bitch to change).
Thought you might enjoy.
Sweet lineup. That Omega DeVille quartz is![]()

I have my dad’s automatic Omega Seamaster DeVille from 1967. Got a full service on it as a gift for his 80th birthday after it sat in a drawer for 20+ years. (He stopped wearing it because the replacement flex band he put on it was uncomfortable so it hadn’t even been wound in decades.)Yeah, it’s great having these. Eventually, I hope to pass them along to either my kid or my nephew eventually.
Yeah, one of these days I need to take it to a jeweler or watchmaker to put a battery in. The screws on the back are too small and delicate for me to deal with. It probably hasn’t run in 25-30 years
