What's it going to be?

Let me know if I need to remove or add poll options.

My vote is for the Wilderness/Urban Extreme.

Best to mix it up being that the Bushie and Camp have been done.

I voted Bird & Trout...because we really don't see or hear about them too frequently around here and I'd like to see what different takes on the design would be! Bonus points to those who use a pinky ring. :D

If not that, then Urban would be neat. Not as much gear out there designed for the task.

I voted Bird and Trout. I think that it will be a good test. A small, thin blade with a comfortable handle is something that I don't see done well very often.

I voted for Urban.

We've had a bushcraft knife challenge, the EDC and Bird and Trout are somewhat similar to the Necker challenge, and we've had a camp knife challenge.

Before I vote Rick,
What do you mean by Wilderness/ Urban Extreme? My take on that would be "a bad ass survival knife, ready for anything"....hows that sound?
If this is your meaning (roughly) than I would vote that way...or for the Camp knife...either way...BIG is in right now!
Although someone could make a small prybar multi tool, and do well in an urban environment...but I would tease them just the same.

Oh yeah...this one is all mine Rick, so you don't have to enter Bro. I wouldn't want you to get all teary eyed....:)
I have been designing like a mad man..2 knives a day Broheem...!!
And can we have a scoring system that actually makes some mathematical sense this time around...say like, "35 knife makers enter the challenge...so your score in each category is 1-35..." That way, each person gets an actual read on what is lacking or good about the design they made.
Just my 2 cents...

A knife that I would buy....So to give you a few poll options. Knives that KGD thinks are sexy....Kinves that KGD thinks would be useful.....Knives that KGD would like to buy....Knives that KGD would bring on a camping trip with him.....The list is options are endless.....Just make sure it doesn't include things I don't like.

i have to agree... my best bird and trout is a $0.25 Old Hickory 5" carbon steel filet knife i found at a local flea market - few animals as such on the market (have been looking for a reasonably priced USN Catcherman, but i'm not holding my breath)

I get your desire for a good "bird and trout" guys...but the testing could get kinda boring....
Also, its basically a hunting and fishing multi purpose tool, so all the testers would actually catch a fish to test it...so TONYM would be out as a tester this time around...:)

Perhaps someone could teach him to actually catch a fish? No, you're probably right, he's a lost cause.
All this said, I have been in the market for a good B&T lately as they are a fantastic size for always having with you and doing everything from cleaning a fish to minor surgeries. I'd love to find one with a comfortable handle and a good heat treat.

I have to agree, everyone know's what a Bird and Trout usually looks like so I'd imagine you would just end up with X number of clones. I think it would be just the same saying have a Nessmuk or Kephart challenge.
IMO a better category would be a Hunting knife category, this could then include Skinners, Bird and Trouts, Caping knives, etc.

I voted for the Bird and Trout because you can survive a loooooooooong time on small stuff. It's getting to be fishing season too. Some times you just need to be in the woods and waters without tearing the environ a new one. I like bad ass knives but B&T's could be tested in more subtle ways.

Answer...knives shaped like a smooth Asian boy. :O

I probably don't even have to say this...you know me, but I voted for the wilderness/urban extreme :)
