You are all missing the point. Isn't the goal to become famous, sell out for the cash, score hot chicks, blow the cash, admit an addiction, enter rehab, score younger dumber chick after rehab, then write a book about it thus scoring more cash. The only way for this to be a success is to make swords and battle it out on some cable network poking fun at guys jousting or reinacting medevial times c^%$. Maybe Rick could get on Dr. Phil with the headline "I sold out for 1095"......... Rick I don't even know you so no offense, but I've seen you post on here for a year and you appear to have both a sense of humor and a brain..... this is a rare combination, don't waste it. My vote is for bird & trout. I want a 5" handle with a 3" blade. Thin and slice like crazy.

RWT, I am deeply offended to the point of physical discomfort...... oh, wait... nevermind... its just the fish tacos I made for dinner.

Screw the polls, EDC challenge is to close to the necker challenge. I say a camp/kitchen knife challenge would be the most useful and interesting. Say no more than 10 inch OAL. Less talk, more just doing it!!!

We already did the camp/kitchen, too, bud..... lol.

I say we make a new poll for what we haven't done yet.

It was a camp knife challenge, cowboy. For the most part it had a heavy leaning towards the rugged end and not the kitchen/processing end of the spectrum. Regardless, the camp knife challenge was also the best challenge yet (largely thanks to Brian), so it deserves a healthy tweak and an encore. Here's the link to the camp knife challenge results: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/687445-Camp-Knife-Challenge-Results!!!!!. Thinner, smaller, more kitcheny than campy, and we're in business.

We could really challenge the makers considering hundred's of fixed blades are made in our prison's everyday with little to no tools. We could go eco-hippie and give them a salvaged suburau and say here, "Find something to recyle and make a blade" or better yet a FOLDER. Yes, I'd like to see some of their folders just to see the different blade design and locking mechanisms. If not this then a tin knife. I just can't get my head around another chopper.

I could do a butcher/kitchen/camp challenge as long as it isn't only cutting veggies and pork roast. We have a Kitchen Knife forum on BF. Keep it within the W&SS theme and it's cool.

I really don't want to do a kitchen knife challenge.

I would rather see the wilderness/urban extreme or another camp knife challenge. I like big knives:D

Just my 2 cents.

A 10" butcher knife is pretty big.

I know, I want to do the extreme challenge, too. In my opinion, it's supposed to be a challenge not a consumer review.

After long and hard thought.. well, actually, I didn't really think on it, I just want to see the extreme challenge. It seems like it would be the most challenging to me. And being challenged is what a challenge is for... as far as I know, anyway.

So Rick ......

If I personally challenge you and the other extreme makers to an axle bearing blasting, knot busting, trench diggin', ball bustin', tree felling, Zombie dispatching, sheeple scaring ...... tool off .......

You're all down?!

True, but I can't bust up some osage with a thin butcher knife, or maybe I can:D

I do agree that it should be challenging, not the same old same old to try and make some sales.

Hello guys, I'm not sure that I posted on this forum before but with your permission I'd like to vote and enter the challenge. Also, are we talking knives only for the wilderness/ urban extreme category or could it be some kind of hatchet or axe?

So what's it gonna be and when?

EDC has the votes, but seems like more makers are interested in the urban/extreme knife.

Lets not let this fizzle out...spring is about here- good time for a challenge!

I vote 5.5 - 9". Bigger is fine, as long as the price is kept under 500$ imo considering the actual economy!

I call shotgun on Rick's new knife :D
