So, I go to a WW to get a brother a present for his 30th b-day this Sunday.
Maybe a CD or DVD?
I happen by sporting goods..."maybe someday they'll have Buck knives". Sure enough...some 655 knives, a mess of 300 series, 110 clampacks, and one 119 clampack.
What a pleasant surprise as they have not carried Bucks before at this store.
Happily I pay the $34 for the 119. Actually, the wife paid.

Here's the deal, I've been EDC'ing the 119BR. Too pretty I'm thinking.
Plus I am intrigued by the nylon sheath...which I can't really see in the clampack too well. Wondering if it hangs lower on the belt than the leather ones?

Wondering if I should just keep this pup and get the b-day guy something else????

Well..well...well now goose,

The right thing to do is to give that 119 as the gift it was intended to be. You need to save your extra funds for that 07 124 ;). You just may start another brother down the road to hoarding Buck's like the rest of us!!!!

There's other clampack 119's...some not far from me...

But let's get down to the real question...why did they boot Chester out and replace him with Festus??? :confused: I saw one of the last of the Gunsmoke reruns a few days back...I thought it was a Clint Eastwood western at first, because the whore looked so scuzzy...then I realized it was Miss Kitty... :eek:

She looked hideous... :(
 
its your brother-keep it and show it to him with the story about how it was going to be his,then give him a stick and say you thought he would do better with a less quality sticking device-if you cant bust your brothers balls on his birthday what good is he-

then give him the knife

If there is a Gander Mountain near you, they also have the EDC 119's @ $34.95... :cool:
 
Give him the clampack with a picture of the knife inside maybe even hand draw it....then give him the knife.:D
 
Someone here said they had 119 clones under $20 at "a local feed store"...you could get the clone, put it in the clampack, and give it to him...and keep the Buck as an EDC... ;) :thumbup:

Give him the knife like you planned. It'll make ya feel all warm an fuzzy. Then tell him it's his turn to fork over the beer money.
 
I have given special knifes to family before. Just recently I gave a red alox victoronox farmer to someone. People just don't know or appreciate it like we do. So be prepared.
