What Would James Bond/Jason Bourne Carry?

I think the original James Bond (Sean Connery) would carry something like a Buck 110 - classic, durable and no frills

Jason Bourne would carry a Benchmade Auto Presidio - new, quick and replaceable

The new James Bond (Daniel Craig) would carry something like a fully serrated Spyderco Native - solid, strong and would not give a damn about a smooth cut!

No way would Sean Connery carry a 110.

Looks more like an Italian Stilletto guy to me. Black scales.

I would say you have the basic idea except for old bond (connery) he would be a fixed blade guy, it would be in his suit, somewhere...quick to use, strong knife...

The buck seems to be too slow for him

I dont think James Bond is a knife guy. He is a sissy character any way. :D

He would probably have a pen with some gadget that cuts.

Yes, generally speaking, James Bond is a little soft but I do believe that Connery and Craig are the exceptions - they have a bit of a mean streak.

As far as the 110, I was trying to imagine something that was available during his time period that he could have acquired along the way.

I agree, the old James Bond would carry a fixed blade. I am imagining something like the Kershaw boot knife. It would give him multiple carry options and would be easily concealed under his suit. The most current Bond would carry a folder, something with a low profile, but definately not serrated. I don't know about Bourne, I think it would be something common...easily replaced. Maybe a delica or endura. I could see them both carrying some type of multi tool, Bond looks like an SAK guy....something from their alox line. Simple and elegant. Where as Bourne would probably carry a multi tool something black...Maybe a SOG powerlock EOD.

Craig used the MOD Triton OTF in Quantum of Solace. I think it fits, Protech Godfather would be a good Bond knife too IMO.

The Bond of book fame carried a throwing knife in a forearm sheath. That's the only Bond that matters ;)

Jason Bourne, some make of a compact American Bowie, Sean Connery, Fairban Sykes. keepem sharp

Yep...Buck 110 is way too John Wayne for James Bond. Maybe a small Grip or something. Whatever it is, you can be sure it would have pearl or black scales...

I see Bond as more of a Protech Godfather kinda guy, and Bourne as more of a Becker/KaBar/RAT kinda guy. In either case, the knife would have to be totally expendable.

A fixed blade. What's with all the folders? :p It's not like Bond or Jason Bourne obey the law and have to carry folders. More likely they'd carry a nice, strong fixed blade to stab evil folks with. :D

In a couple of the early films, he used a dive knife in underwater scenes, but it was never highlighted in the way his watches/guns were. Someone missed the merchandising boat. :)

The original bond carried a dinky little pistol, so I think he would have carried a little auto.

The new bond is a little beefy, so he should be carrying a beefy yet lightweight AO. BM Stryker comes to mind.

Bourne would carry any quality knife available from a local store, wherever he is. It should be something that can't betray whatever identity he has assumed.

I might also vote for a random kitchen knife. Bourne used one from his own kitchen in the first film - or tried to (had to ditch it before he needed it).
