What Would James Bond/Jason Bourne Carry?

The Connery Bond (the best, by far) was a miitary officer, so a British F/S would be most plausible. For Craig, a full size AO Benchmade Barrage, no serrations.

yeah bond would pack a F/S dagger.

bourne would pack a emerson custom CQC6 or a MT halo.

Not to stray off topic too much but I thought Denzel Washington's fully serrated stainless handled Spyderco Police fit his character perfectly in Training Day.

I agree that Bond would carry a sturdy fixed blade, him being a former SAS man and all. I also see to recall him using one in a few of the books, possibly as a throwing knife. He was very good if I recall.

Commander Bond of Her Majesty's Royal Navy on inspecting his latest kit, "...wot? no daggers! no locking folders?! what the devil is this? A 3-Piece British Army Clasp Knife with sheeps foot blade? Considerably shaken and most certainly stirred".

Funny! :D

I was reading some entertainment mag recently, and there was some big stir over what Prince William was taking "to war" after "enlisting." Shockingly, it seems he was taking "a knife" in the form of some Gerber multi-tool.

>Gasp!<

probably not a bad choice, he can use it to open bottles and stuff and he wont get close to combat anyway.

probably very few of the folks who do get into combat will ever need a F/S or such anyway.

The Bond of book fame carried a throwing knife in a forearm sheath. That's the only Bond that matters ;)

hear, hear.i've been reading a few again lately, and while Bond is a lady's man he's a tough bastard.i remember 1 book [think it was Dr No] where Bond is in the process of writing an unarmed-combat manual, iirc.

I remember seeing in one of the Bond movies that he stabbed a BG with a Gerber boot knife. That would be my choice for old school 007.For the new Bond the OTF used in Solace. As stated above Bourne would obtain whatever is available locally.I also agree that we need a new Bourne movie asap.tom.

conery seemed like a fairbanks knife guy.

Borne would take the other guys benchmade from his pocket and stick it in the other dudes neck.

I swore off bond in recent history, I wouldnt know anything about him now.

In the books Bond (like Ian Fleming) was SAS and served in WWII as a commando. He did indeed use a FS in several of the books-

Necro win! nice work bringing this one back from the dead... I'll bite.
Bonds (in order)
Connery: Small stiletto... nothing as large as a F/S as it needs to fit discreetly under his bespoke suits and stainless as he spent the most time in the water of any of them.
Lazenby: No nonsense gentlemens locking folder with a robust tip for stabbing and an integral guard... he wasn't taking any chances with his fingers
Moore: italian switchblade stiletto, a little obnoxious and comically classic.
Dalton: Fixed blade combat/utility. small enough to conceal but robust enough to get the job done
brosnan: gerber MkII dagger
Craig : Zero tolerance 0550

Bourne : something he picked up at a flea market or pawn shop. low key

Having read all the Bond books if I can recall he was a weapon of opportunity guy for the most part when he wasn't shooting people with his Walther PPK. I always refer to the briefcase that "Q" issued him in "From Russia With Love". The briefcase had a concealed flat throwing knife, which was made for the double O's by "Q" branch for their field kits.

Bond: stiletto or otf.
Bourne: an old copy of Newsweek.
