What would you change on your favorite Traditional, if you could?

Thought this could be my favorite. Had never held one and realized quickly after getting in hand that the ergos of a second, full sized, opposite ended blade might not be for me. Not in a 4" knife, anyway.

The knife is beautiful and I'm going to make it a user. It's more comfortable in hand when using the spear point.

I wasn't completely happy w/ the Appaloosa Bone, so I Scotch-brite scuffed the polish and RIT dyed black.

The shield and bolsters took on a subtle copper/brass tone..

Happy w/ the results...will be put to work after a day or so of the covers soaking up some oil.

I'd love to change the sheild. I might try to drop the kick(s) ..it may make it more comfortable in hand..

I would love to get my 63 stainless Mako made into an auto with the acorn shield as the button.

Looks great. I would have guessed this was ebony wood. Be careful dropping the kicks. I doubt you can drop them low enough to really drop the blades enough to be happy.

I have a few knives that I would love to scale up or down just a bit. I would love to have that option when ordering my favorite patterns; highly impractical for the factory but great for us nonetheless :D
I would like to have my GEC #48 Improved Trapper scaled down to 3 1/2 inches :)

Thanks

I've reconsidered on dropping the kicks on this. I think you're correct. I won't get enough out of it to make a big enough difference..and I should find something else for a first attempt.

Got the Ebony and Antique Yellow 15s yesterday. GEC just keeps getting better and better. These knives are fantastic. They're each good enough to push my favorite 35 out of the pocket for a bit.

But still, I wish they had shields.

Love my Case Medium Jack, but not a fan of the Black Delrin or Tru-sharp stainless. Change the scales to the dark red pocketworn jigged bone and the steel to 154CM and it would be perfect.

I'd buy one of those. BTW, I'm looking for a GEC Electrician, too.

I would change the blades on my 81 Bull Moose from 1095 to CPM 20CV or M390

This market is begging for traditionals in modern steels. Just look at the success of CK's Roundhead, Shuffler, and the upcoming Dom. Or the poll for the 2018 Forum Knife. CPM154 won going away and 20CV had the next most votes.

W WoodManGM You are 100% correct

Could you imagine a lionsteel 3 blade stockman??? Or a gunstock Jack? They wouldnt be able to keep up with demand... as long as the prices stayed reasonable

My Ebony GEC Powderhorn, the most carried knife over the past few years, I wish the blades were 440C.
