What would you change on your favorite Traditional, if you could?

Antler scales on my aluminum Buck 110. Or checkering the micarta: It's too slick.

hmmmm, lets see. id like to see a 35 single blade single clip, maybe single blade 15 long pull clips with end caps, more 15 clip offerings in other steels, 1095 can be fickle in certain climates. wouldnt mind single clip 78s, havent seen those.

It wasn't hard to pick my favorite knife. It was much harder finding something I'd want to change about it. The knife is so close to perfect for me; The size, the blade, the handle covers, the fit and finish, the pull and snap. I guess if there was one thing I'd change, I'd have bolsters on both ends of the knife. That would make it beyond perfect. I wish I had two of them so I could carry one every day and beat the heck out of it, and have one to sit there looking pretty.

I wish I could get case yellow delrin with cv springs as well as blades. That would push one of the many lovely yellow delrin knives into favorites.

Case Large Sodbuster with a backlock, thicker blade and spring like 1970s. Return of the original liner lock would be great. Also, large sodbuster offered with bone or stag scales. Seems like the Juniors get all the special treatment. I have CV and stainless, but being that I use/carry these daily, including kitchen work, prefer stainless for cleaning purposes.

In general I wish all my knives were carbon steel, and Im sure whichever is my favorite isn't carbon steel so that's what I'd change about it.

For my Buck 119 which is one of my favorites I'd change the handle to a KA-BAR style grip profile.
It works as it is, but I like the most neutral grip possible.
Look up Buck Brahma, I'm kinda in love with the concept myself

I'm well aware of the Brahma and it's not for me.
One of the things I dislike most is how the 119 handle tapers down towards the back quite a bit while I'd prefer it the other way, and the Brahma seems to do this a bit more than the Standard 119.

My current and persistent idea is to have the spey blade replaced on my 66 with a cap lifter from a 15 crownlifter. Such a knife would have all my needs covered in one package. I even have a name for it... the #66 "Calf Lifter!" If I had the money for an SFO, I'd do it!

Ah I see, I wonder how difficult it would be to remove the butt cap and swap ends basically with the leather washers. The Brahma is on my short "get one" list. I love the 119 blade profile but the finger groves is always kept me from buying one. They never seem to "feel" right to me.

My current favorite is the Northwoods Presidential. The only thing that would make it any better is a steel upgrade along the lines of CPM-M4.
