What would you like from Buck in 2007?

i jest want a autherised custom shop i can call and say :
hi, i am sending an buck knife and i want
{to pick from this menue that i would like}
w~ knife
x~ balde
y~ frame
z~ scales
put on my 110 knife...
and how much will that be
and have it be all buck parts and materials
and bult to bucks leagonday quality
and covered by Bucks forever warenty
because now my kids can not tell if the gold palatic or
the one with deers runing in the plastic handle
are autherised buck rework knives or not and will be sorely embarrised
when they take them to a show!
but in the mean time i would like to get my news letter before any one else!!!

An updated Buckmaster with Possibly a titanium handle and no saw teeth or spikes. Also the lanyard hole would be in the cap not an additional piece but the original sheath would be retained. The steel could be 154CM or maybe even 440C.

I am all for 112 in the custom shop, and would certainly buy one (two? three?), but I was wondering if anyone else would...

I'd buy 112s, especially ones to match my 110s:D  :D. Preston

A "modern" 110 with G10 scales, no bolsters, and a pocket clip. But I guess that would not be a 110, would it?

How about instead of an updated Buckmaster Buck do a collaboration with Robert Parrish to do a factory version of his survival knife. That would be interesting. Or better yet the Buckmaster AND a Parrish collaberation.

102 Woodsman with 154CM or ATS 34 blade and stag handle. I know they'd sell at least one. :p
Sounds good! I'd buy one.
Also they NEED to put the 124 frontiersman back into regular production. Yeah i know they they make a limited Sambar 124 version but i mean regular production.
Hmm and how about a 124 with a regular Buck style hand (ala 119/120)? I love my frontiersman but i always found the handle slightly blocky. I came this close to ebaying it but i like the blade style too much sooo i modded it instead . I reshaped the grip and reduced the size of the handguard. Now its my favorite fixed blade!

hi oliver
so far you are the only one that i have heard say that they like the new handle , personally i dont care for it at all and was going to offer you a swap until i read farther and seen you modded it
i do really like the blade and hope they offer a upgrade to the steel used (but with the proper handle):p :D

Well i haven't actually handled the new 124 stag handle but from the posted pics it seems to have the same dimensions as the 119/120 handles. And i do like their handles. And with my slight mods my 124 is now perfect for me so i'm happy. Regardless if they made a new reg production 124 (with wood or phenolic, long or short handle) i would purchase one. And actually although i like Buck 420 steel i would also be interested in a steel upgrade.
How do you feel about the Stag 124's shortened handguard? Its almost the same dimensions as my modified guard. I've always found the stock guard unnecessarily big. But thats just my personal preference.
:D

although i dont use them i have almost the reverse feeling , i like the old original handles as well as the guard and feel the new one is disproportionate for the knife
to me the old one is a good match and balance much like the 119 or 120 is a very well balanced knife with the new handle it (124) feels like a very large blade on a small handle it just doesnt seem right to me
and yes upgradeed steel is in order:thumbup:

I think a lot of it boils down to personal comfort based on hand size, I have medium to small sized hands with short thick fingers.I have a bugger of a time finding gloves that fit, the fingers are alway snug but just a little bit too long. Also i'm used to long bladed knives (blades 9 inch or longer). My western bowies and my Ka-bar do however have exactly the same handle length as the old frontiersman so for me it really must be a balance issue. And as i said before just rounding the handle helped a lot. All of this does Make me wonder, I'm really going to have to see and feel a new generation 124 up close before i buy one.
