What Xmas knife did you get from Santa?

ive never been able to sharpen my military's s30v as well as id like, and i still prefer vg10 or 154, but i love hand sharpening and these are wonderful. i actually started on the 220 and got all the factory scratches out within 10 or so strokes each side, 1000 soon got it shaving, and about an hour in i had a pristine, hair popping, mirror edge. they even come with really nice HD individual plastic cases with rubber bases that are perfect for sharpening out of. waterstones are the shit

You're going to need that diamond stone too....but DAMN that knife looks nice.

Me I didn't get any knives....but I got an anvil, coals, firepit with blower and some steel.

I'm well excited....now to go and find some decent hammers.
 
No new knives this year but for New Year's get to go to a retreat of sorts where the afternoon stuff involves a chance to learn some bushcraft that I've never had the chance to do before.
 
I didn't receive any knives but I gave my brother and my brother in law 2 compact Rough Rider "Doctor" knives as a little extra. They're not knife people but they can appreciate the utility, and the doctor is svelte enough not to alarm others:

EDIT: I forgot to add that I gave my mother an Opinel mid-sized (17cm blade) Santoku. I think it's a pretty new model. Light and handy in the good Opinel tradition:

I received an SOG Flash II and a Sharpmaker. While the Flash is is decent little EDC I don't see it ousting the Para D2 as the champ. The Sharpmaker is flat out terrific and everything folks say it is!
 
I got a Izula in tan with kit and because my birthday is on X-mas
I get to celebrate it a little early soooooooo. that is how I got my

I had been eyeballing these puppies for a while. I just received a Spyderco and a Edgepro for Christmas so the Norton Waterstones will have to wait.

Yes, the "Companion" variant, it's great isn't it. I've been carrying mine since around two weeks and I like it a lot. Very well made, nicely rounded handle corners. I can't yet really comment on the steel, it is probably midrange by today's standard, but easy to sharpen and as stainless as H1. In general it feels as good as any really good liner lock from any good competitor, and I like the Dietmar Pohl design (remarkable for me as I tend to prefer gentlemen and classic regional designs).
Perhaps I will one day try to change the inlay on mine to a nicely structured kind of wood, as the handle is really monotonous black now.

My wife and my daughter both bought me a new Christmas knife.

The Camel bone handle skinner is by Tim Olt, and the Bird and Trout is from Lance Ockenden, in the UK.

Both show a high degree of skill and artistry. Can't wait to bloody them both. :D
My wife also gave me a Shun Japanese water stone, with a 300 grit side and a 1000 grit side.
