What you killing deer with this year?

Treestand rifle will be a custom commercial Mauser in 257 Weatherby. On the ground I'll be carrying a Tikka T3 lite (left hand) in 308.

My big problem is trying to decide which knife to use!

Less than a week to go here!

The Benelli M4 goes to the range Tuesday for confirmation of zero.
I'll carry the Colt Delta too if the handloads I've worked up turn out accurate.

Took the rem 700 in .308 yesterday but will probably take the .357 marlin lever tomorrow, I like options :)

Took an Elk so far with my Horton bow 3 blade rage.
Rifle on whitetail 300 Remington altra mag, 4x12 nikon, 165 grn. hand loaded nos. ballistic tip . fast flat and acc. out to 500 yds.
Be safe .

Greetings,
Bow hunting in the Southern Tier of NY opened on October15th. At 0645 I took an 8 pointer, with a dressed weight of 174 lbs. This was by far the heaviest deer I had ever taken with a bow. I replaced my gear this year with the following and it came through for me. First, I bought a Mission Endeavor, it's set at 70 lbs. and is shooting at about 310 fps. I went with the Carbon Express Terminator "lite Hunter" weight forward technology arrows and added "Luminox" lighted nocks, I chose "Rage" two blade broad heads to complete my package. I hit the Buck just above center chest at 11 yards, he ran about 60 yards, looked back and fell over dead, he didn't even twitch, I watched him the whole time from my tree stand, so tracking wasn't an issue, but since I hadn't used these broad heads before, I followed the trail. As you can imagine, it was quite easy and within 15 minutes I was standing over my Buck. Good luck and safe hunting to all this season.

Marlin 336 in 30-30. Dropped this little guy in his tracks at 80 yds (long shot!) this year. I sent a second round at him to make sure as he spun around but only nicked him in the shoulder--I should know better than to waste ammo like that!

Going to try and use this little guy this year. 460xvr.

If not, I'll have my trusty Knight muzzleloader along.

Our rifle season opens this morning, I will be up a tree in a heavy pine/cedar thicket with my Marlin 336 in .35 rem

Great morning, saw a small buck let him walk. Then a group of doe. Took this one at about 50 yds.
Donated to hunters for the hungry. Got plenty in the freezer.

No longer bow-hunt. Wouldn't hit the woods without my Marlin 336CS, 30-30, 170 grain Remington ammo. 4X scope.

My 11 year old son was using his CVA .50 caliber muzzleloader to take his first deer.

Tonight the Hoyt gets put away. Took out 1 dominant doe with the Hoyt so I'm happy. Rest of year when I go out the 336C will be with me

In Missouri we are allowed Centerfire Rifle. I' ve killed all of my deer for about 20 some odd years with a Ruger M-77 .270. Flat shooting gun. Longest shot, 307 yards, but most are between 80 - 200 yards.

Most guys snicker at the caliber, but I drop like .25 inches from 100 to 200 yards vs. a .308 which drops about 5-7 inches.

The .270 Win. is nothing to snicker at. As I wrote in an earlier post, I killed an elk earlier this month with a .243. My hunting partner used a .270. Both resulted in one-shot kills.
