What you killing deer with this year?

I built a long bow about 17 years ago and I plan to dig it back out and shoot a deer this year. Been almost 10 years since I had time to deer hunt so I am really looking forward to being in the woods again.

Remington 870 and Knight .50 Muzzleloader. Won't be able to get out this season though:( , ill be on Parris Island during hunting season. I'll have to shoot a big doe and a big buck next year i guess haha

Hopefully my CVA Kodiak Pro Magnum!

Not the best pic but its all I had.

My takedown Herter's recurve with two blade Zwickey's... and my S&W .44 Model 629 Hunter with 240gr Buffalo Bore.
The better half uses a .44 Timber Wolf with the same. :)

I'm gonna try archery this year, so I'm hunting with a PSE model???
I'll have my Rem 700 in .243 along for the rifle season.

I'm really happy to see marlin 336's represented here as much as they are.
With all the gun mags and hunting shows pushing mags and ultamags, many people are under the impression a
30-30 or 35 rem will no longer kill a deer.
Nice to see common sense still being used.

Rifle Remington model 7 in 7mm08.

Rifles are illegal here in the plains so I am gonna stick with my trusty remmington 870 super magnum. I've been shooting rifled slugs and have not been disappointed yet. I have been thinking about getting a rifled barrel for it. Has anyone had experience changing it out? What barrel? Would any 12gauge remmington 870 rifled barrel work?

I have both Remington Rifled barrel and smooth bore 28" on my 870 (i.e. the deer combo) and I have to admit, with cheapo Remington rifled slugs, I get about 5-6" groups at 100 yards out of the smooth bore, where the sabots through the rifled barrel are all over the paper. I wanted the sabots so I could shoot farther than 100 yards and also get better penetration on big hogs, but the lack of accuracy in the rifled barrel shakes my confidence. I guess it's one of those things where I've just got to find the right load for the barrel, but those sabots are expensive! The tru glo sights and short barrel are a pleasure to hike around with though. If you could borrow a barrel or shoot someones to try it out first, that might save you some $ if you don't like the sabots.

My Rem 700 .270. Love it.
Shooting hand loaded 150 grain hornady's...or maybe my 110 grain ballistic tip, boat-tail, max loads...no those are for rock chucks!

Got an awesome deal on a Marlin .357 lever action, I think I'm going to using that this, I'm getting pretty deadly with it.

Old thread I know but I figured the time is here so why not....

I actually got a nice Doe with my Hoyt. I'm happy with that!! Might get one with horns next. If I'm lucky.

I will be taking my Remmington 700 CDL 30.06', and my T/C Z5 Omega .50 cal with me when I move to CO in a few weeks. A little late in the season this year so I may have to wait until next. I'm also taking my CZ 452 Ultra Lux for small game, and my Sig p229 for personal protection just in case. Mostly big mule deer and elk where I'll be headed. I hope to report some success within a year's time.
