The yeller peanut I got on Friday has a couple of issues that warrant a trip back to the Case factory, but I'm already a big fan of the yellow covers. I just ordered a Case penknife with CV and yellow delrin to hold me over until the peanut gets back to me.

won another of those yellow horse painted queen swing guards, this time much cheaper. still gotta find out who that is. and a queen amber stag swing guard, and a Schatt and Morgan heritage Jack

I dont think I have seen these sowbelly. I look forward to the pics.

Well, I rarely purchase a Bark River knife brand new. But KSF is having a very nice sale right now. So I have a Nomad in black micarta en route!

I have that knife. Love the story about the barn. You will be happy with the knife. The chestnut is really nice.

I ordered a Canal street Barlow with American Chestnut scales. This is gonna be a present for my brother. The Chestnut is reclaimed wood from a barn in Kentucky (where we live).
My brother plays fiddle and likes the old timey fiddle tune "Barlow Knife"

Here's the actual barn, built in the twenties, it was used as a tobacco barn until the late seventies, when it had deteriorated to the point it wasn't safe to use anymore. The Hoover family then sold the frame and boards to the owner of Canal Street, who has been using them for his knives ever since. I have a trapper coming, and I asked for one with as much character as possible, i.e., worm/nail holes, mineral line in the wood. I'll likely receive it next week, and I'm very interested to see what comes out of the box.

Interesting those Ivorine knives JP. Are they still on that original cardboard sales plaque? And, how small is small??

Thanks, Will

Great picture of the barn. I was sorry to read about Canal Street closing. More knives with backstorys are needed in the world.

And I have a GEC #25 red linen micarta coming from a fellow BF member.

Answer around next thursday. I don't know if they have been forgotten (this happens sometimes) or if these are leftovers, like the fishtails. This is an original cardboard, but it won't come with. Next year I'll meet the seller, he has a lot of knives (he was a maker himself , a renowned workshop, still existing).

Old Schrade camp knife from 70's and böker sportmesser. I think I will start collecting this pattern. :)
