Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

I recently commissioned a Lanny's Clip by Dave Taber. Cannot wait to see how it turns out. I'm like a kid in a candy store lol.

A Case CA079 that should arrive in the next day or so and having taken a fancy for a bit of German deer stag i have just ordered a Hen & Rooster Stockman, so that is another ten or twelve days waiting.

I saw these two posted in the newest additions thread earlier, and now I have one on its way to me. :D

Also ordered a Buck 110, because I don't have one, and I figure I should.

I had a little store credit over at KSF so decided to give those good folks my business for my first gec. A #74 tidouite rancher in amber gold jigged bone.

Also, I've always wanted a medium cv Stockman and a sowbelly from case. Decided to get both at once just now.

Seems I'm on a multi blade kick for some reason after carrying the same TAD single and a sebenza or mnandi for a long time.

I just added both a ka bar stockman coppersmith and a Barlow coppersmith to my incoming knives. Will be an exciting week and a half or so while they all come in. Should offset the 7-12's boredom until mid February a bit.

I had my eye on this one, good to know it went to someone on the forum

My searches only turn up one on the bay over the last 5 years and very few overall online. That's gotta say a little something for the rarity. Plus it's a beautiful old bone Barlow and that's just fine by me. :D It's already made it into my carries and I've been researching Kruse & Bahlmann Hdwe, but as of yet I can't find any catalogs.

Funny, that's exactly the thinking that made me order my first.:rolleyes::p

Those copper Barlows are incredible knives, I need to get my hands on one sooner rather than later. Great find, sir!

Richard Romano Lanny's Clip in Ironwood with fluted bolsters & crescent nail-nick - something close to this (should have it in late March):

I've always hesitated putting one of my bone or wood handles slip joints into my pocket if I was going to be working outside at home for fear of damaging the scales. Plus depending on the knife, they are hard to impossible to get open with gloves on.

I saw the hayn helpers hit stores today. With a blade I can open with gloves on, and with 1095 and OD micarta at $60, I had to do it.

Northfield #53 T. K. Cuban Pen in Cocobolo. I'm thinking this might make a dandy dress knife. That said, I'm a bit concerned... When I set out to buy my best man a nice pocketknife as a gift three months ago, I didn't expect to buy one for myself, let alone half a dozen, as has been the case! I wonder if my darling wife notices that the knives on my dresser seem to be multiplying?

It's not a pattern that really strikes my fancy, but I saw a pic on a dealer's site with some Legend Stag on it :D:D Authentic Old School look. Hope you got it!:thumbup:

Regards, Will

I do not have it yet Will. It should be shipping today and then I should have it Wednesday. Pictures will happen as soon as I get it. I do have a use for this type of blade , but do not expect to carry it much.

Well, I took another step in the traditional direction yesterday.

I have a Opinel #7 on order.

I have been looking at these knives with great interest since the '70s. But somehow never got around to owning one. I have never even held one in my hand.

I just have never been much of a folder guy. I tried to be. I have a few Spydies, the rest comfortably in a draw. I have a Buck 110 that I am sort of fond of. But that rides on my hip in a sheath when I do carry it. Which isn't that often.

Yesterday, I decided it was time. After reviewing opinel's USA website. I settled upon a limited edition #7. It was supposedly made from scavenged oak from the Hermione Project. The project was to build a replica of the French Frigate Hermione. The original was built by the French specifically to aid the colonies in their bid for independence.

I am a sucker for a knife with a story. I probably paid more than I should have. This one was way more than the standard #7. But I still got away for a bit under $30.00. Comapred to most of the knives I have owned and still own. This one seemed almost too good of a deal to pass up.

Of course, if this goes the way I imagine. I am sure there will be more following.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
