Whatcha listnin to oo oo?

I'm sure that working in a machine shop and being around firearms my entire life hasn't helped, but I really do take good care of my hearing (mostly). It all started when I was a kid. My boy, who is 15, already has it and has not been exposed to loud noise. I think it's just leaking wires in the brain

Uppers can cause it

When it’s from damage caused by loud noise I think it is actually the vibrations knocking over and breaking the tiny little hairs inside the snail thing in your ear that pick up that frequency

I've had tinnitus ever since I set off a big explosion in my concrete basement as a kid (playing around with nitrogen tri-iodide). Like Nathan, I just can't hear sounds above a certain frequency at all - they're "drowned out" by the tinnitus. Most of the time I can ignore it pretty well. Buf I have to be very careful when shooting firearms because just one shot without ear protection will cause the volume of the tinnitus to increase a lot for at least a day. It also makes me more susceptible to mosquito bites, because I can't hear the little bastards coming after me!

The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

eta: Sports was one of the first records I ever purchased, along with Queen the game, Billy joel an innocent man, and Black sabbath paranoid.
I really liked another one bites the dust and uptown girl 😂
still do i guess

Recently saw John Williams on PBS directing the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra which performed a program comprised solely of Williams' movie scores from ET to Harry Potter. So, I bought this 2 CD set of that performance which I just played and listened to yesterday and am playing again now.

You can Google "Williams Berlin" and find video and audio clips of certain tracks played during the performance. Here's a clip of the track of the orchestra playing the theme from "Star Wars: A New Hope."

Lots of familiar movie tunes which I found both familiar and entertaining. It's actually amazing how many different movies Williams has written scores for and how commercially successful all of them have been.

I've already found that playing the CDs of the performance makes great "muzak" to listen to while "working" on the computer when I don't want to turn on the TV. LOL! ;)

One thing that is irritating to me. I have tinnitus that goes into frequencies high enough that I can't actually hear those frequencies except for the tinnitus.

I guess we don't actually hear tinnitus. We perceive it. Loudly
FWIW, I find that wearing my hearing aids helps control the tinnitus a lot, particularly in my deafest ear where the tinnitus is most pronounced.
