whatcha packing today

Where the heck do you guys carry your izula? Do you bring a bag with you everywhere you go? If you keep it in your pocket, when you pull it out, does it come out with the sheath on it?

I used the stock sheath for about 6 months of EDC. Recently I had some custom kydex made for my izzy's. I pocket carry them, or my HEST. Trick is, just pop off the sheath with your thumb. It takes a bit of use to work in the sheaths to do this, but nothing drastic. If you're having kydex made, tell the bender you you want a looser fit for pocket carry. Most design and mold for neck carry, which requires much more lockup. Belt options for carry are also not lacking.

Here's my EDC for the most part when at work.

(I forgot my Rat trap key in the first picture and thought it ironic so went to take a second pic and forgot my Leatherman...) SO, Rat-1 folder, Crackberry, Bic, wallet (can you guess where I hide my house key?) and the Leatherman.

Then this is my grab and go that I keep in the truck.

I spend all day outside and end up in water and mud quite a bit grabbing critters so extra boots and socks are a must. A first aid kit, RAT pack with ESEE-6, some sturdy gloves, AG Russell woodswalker, Streamlight, firesteel/striker/Photon keychain.... The little green tin is my super tiny survival kit.

Weekend carry, replace the Rat-1 with an ESEE-3 in kydex on my belt...

No pic but this is my edc kit most of the times.

At work im a real pack rat.
In my pants pockets/belt:
Belt; Fenix PD30
Right rear; Small Notebook
Left Front; Work phone-simple Nokia
Right Leg; 2x 3mm screwdriver. 1 for stirring coffee and 1 for, Exacto knife with breakable blade, Foldable ruler 1m.
Left leg; Gloves and keys
In my breast pocket; Molded earplugs, pen, permanent marker.

Outside my work;
Belt, right hand side; Buck 110, Surefire E2L
Right front pocket; Wallet
Left Front Pocket; HTC Hero

Indeed, no ESEE stuff. Yet.
Gonna order at least a Izula for home(kit) and probably one for work. Perhaps a RC-4, 5 or 6 for home use too. And maybe a HEST for in my car

you liking that streamlight ? is that the one I gave ya

It is! Works great but eats batteries like nobody's binnis.:D

What kind of critters?

You name it. Opossums, raccoons, snakes, turtles, armadillos, gators, dogs, rats, mice even a loose chicken.... Pretty much anything that rich people don't think belongs on their property, which is anything but money and other rich people.

had a few cows break a fence a few weeks ago, had to chase them around like a moron for awhile.

I manage properties for wealthy folks. I coordinate all the care of the property like mowing and landscaping, take care of their sprinkler systems, pool cleaning and the like and I'm a licensed pest control tech so I do that work myself. Most of these people think I'm their personal groundskeeper so if they see critters, I get a call. The money is good so I do what I can to accommidate.;)

I have on myself the new Mini Griptilian Black scales with the plain 154cm blade. Wanted one with D2 but as usual I am impatient and Sportsmans Warehouse had that one so I bought it. Not to sidetrack this thread what is everyones facts/opinions between S30V, D2 and 154CM steels. I was wondering if there was a huge difference in the three. I feel the D2 would probably be on top but I am not sure about the S30V and 154cm.

Well the other thing I am packing is my Muyshondt Aeon CR2 flashlight. A beautiful gem that light is and as it should be for $125.00. And a back up with my 4sevens Preon 1 gold flashlight, again another gem in its own rite. I have been looking at the self defense ball point pens lately and have been amused by them. Seems a very practical last ditch device to ward off two legged snakes. Seems they would be very effective. Again moderator/other members if there is a thread on blade steels please point me to it. I will do a search myself meantime.

Well I am long winded as usual sorry,
Daniel

I know D-2 is a great idiot proof steel, being used for profesional tools. With S30V being a good 2nd place i think.
I prefer carbon steel though, awesome edge and keeps it pretty good. Just a little more care for the knife.
