Lenin: A New Biography

Dmitri Volkogonov, Author.

Recently been researching the origins of Communist's, this book is quite good- starts out slow and then gains speed. The author is a X Communist Russian general.

Recommended- most esp if you want to understand the origins and the facts about Lenin and the Bolsheviks.

Sorry, too busy with socialism right now to bother with communism.

N2K - The "Alex Hawke" series by Ted Bell are enormously entertaining. Just really well done, enjoyment that takes you away. Have read them all (some in one sitting, not because they are small but because they are that good).
We aren't talking Tom Clancy here, no need for flow charts or note taking during the read.
(Jeezus, 14 years Active Duty and I find Clancy a little "overdone")
Anyway, I can take a pic of the series, they are upstairs in my bookshelves. Not mandatory BUT, I'd say read them in order.
Good read.

Cool, I'll give these a look. I've been very busy lately but will be making more time for reading and such in the near future.

Indeed, but there is a very fine line between the two, a somewhat blurry and grey line at times. Throw "progressivism" in there while you are it....stepping stones for the path we are on.

;)

I think you guys will enjoy the "light" but enjoyable reading that Ted Bell has to offer with the Alex Hawke character.

I will try and get a pic posted this evening of the books (in order) for anyone who is interested.

I am a big fan of reading and do so as much as I can. Many times reading for sheer enjoyment rather than educational enrichment.

As promised for those interested:

My Oldest is reading "Spy" but that is 3 or so into the series (before TSAR I believe)

Home to some of my Books (book shelves were a winter weekend project. I like shelves)

You are quite an orderly type person Rubi! Everything in it's place. What's in that little stereo rack there?

Yes, perhaps Map :) That is my "I don't feel like going downstairs and firing up the Levinson" Home Theatre system.
Actually sounds pretty good (Yamaha/JBL).

Quite true, started to research the origins of the Communist movement after the raise of the left in America, thats why the bio of Lenin was so interesting.

The Russian revolution was a amazing, thing unreal, total destruction of a culture and a way of life by the Bolsheviks. Horrific.

How? Study their origins, thought and actions- if interested.

"Lenin a new bio" is a good place to start.

@BL...I'm refraining from further comment as to not go political in this thread.

@Rubi....I'm going to see what titles are avail. by Ted B. on the e-reader when I get a chance. And love the library nook! One day I'll find the time to kick back and relax in a similar fashion.
