Anyone out here in knife land know of a company that can produce a folder in a 4 inch blade size, that is of same caliber as the mighty striders. Basicly I am lookin for a sharpened crow-bar (strider) Thanks for any help!:D

Not much! But if you're willing to spend BIG bucks for a custom then you might want to look at Steve Ryan or the Farid T5000...the Farid is a double framelock (top and bottom...actually, the top is permanently bent and acts as a stop pin) with 5/16" thick blade and 1/4" thick handle slabs (over 3/4" thick overall).

If you're looking for something like the Strider, why not get the Strider? Is it a money issue, or just want something different?

The new line of Extrema Ratio folders are big nasty knives. Not cheap though. :D

The Ralph/Wilson Tactical Elite series. The Camillus CUDA Maxx, if you can go up in size. If you want to go to a makers knives, then Darrel makes a 4" and 3" version of the Maxx. If you can wait for a couple of months Camillus will be coming out with the Dominator.

Or, as was pointed out, if your looking for a Strider, buy a Strider.

All the knives listed here are tough, but none are Strider tough.

Arlee Niemi Megaladon. It's a custom.

If you are looking for a Strider why not just buy a Strider? They make great knives, that as far as i can tell will never fail.

Anyone consider Emmerson?

Seems to me as their folders are pretty damn tough. I've beat the hell out of mine and they're still kickin'.

I've no experience with Strider as they're right the hell out of my price range but I'd put Emmerson right up there.

I don't think there are any knives stronger than Striders, and I'm not just saying that because I am a client.

Face it, they are made out of the same premium components as other cutlers use, that being BG-42, S30V, titanium and G-10. Add to this the fact that their steel is worried over by Paul Bos, the best in the business.

Finally, all Strider components are thicker than their competition, and usually much bigger to the hand.

Even if you found a way to break one (and Mick shot at one), they have a very good warranty.

I wish Mick also manufactured trucks, motorcycles, firearms and female cybernetic 'love' droids.

All depends on what you are considering as folding knife strength...
If you are going to use the folder as crowbar there are no folders suitable for such tasks. I’m more than sure Strider folders provide you only pretense of strength in this matter. The reason is that nor blade neither handle are not the weakest points loading folding knife across blade plane, in another words using it for prying. The most critical place is pivot pin and I do not see why Strider folders should be stronger in this matter than over brands.

If you want really strong, tank-like built knife for reasonable price, additionally decent cutter – go with Outdoor Edge Magna.

The new Extrema Ratio folders look pretty indestructible. I've never handled one but from what I see and hear they are tough. I also prefer a lockback over a locking liner. Here's an Extrema Ratio Fulcrum compared to an Emerson.

From looks alone, I'd say it locks up way stronger than a locking liner.

Look at your sig line!

The Socom Elite has a .17in thick blade, and a .125in thick liner lock with some good spring to it. Plus the Aluminum frame protects the lock engangement from twisting and prying motions (very important).

the ER folders look pretty crazy too, looks like you could pry that commander apart with one.

The custom versions are, but, IMO, the productions are not even in the same class. YMMV.

the fulcrum looks like it'll take a beating and come back for seconds
