after finishing 12 matching steak knives i was ready for somethign slightly different

Thats a beautiful and very functional looking Fillet knife!:thumbup:

The pattern in the Koa compliments the upswept in the blade!:)
 
Butcher steak/boning that thing is beautiful. I would love to be able to get tips like that. I always end up burning them up. Any tips?
 
I think I'll call it the Black Diamond Rifleman's knife. An old black diamond file, through tang construction. Amber dyed elk antler, brass guard and buttcap, and a copper ferrule. All of the metal fittings were jeweled with an engraving pen.

Just have to etch my logo, sharpen, and make a leather sheath.

This is the last knife I'm making until after I move into my new place!

not ground to 0 but it was hollow ground with one of nates 48" platens
hot tip for not burning up the tip treat belts leik they are free and dont hog with finishing belts. also having a water spray bottle to wet the belt is a huge help (so long as the belts are rated for wet use
 
An ambitious attempt of a Wheeler style bowie is afoot! Kind of a end of the year, best I can do, sort of thing...:D

I've got these 3 on the workbench. handles finished to 220 grit. ready for final finishing and sharpening.

Loveless inspired, O-1, 3/16" thick hollow ground and tapered tangs. Nickel silver hardware. cocobolo, canvas micarta, and maple burl respectively.

Now I have to order some kydex and learn how to make a horizontal small of back retention sheath.
