Where do you guys get the foil crimper pliers? I have some 309 heading my way! I used 321 a couple times; made a pouch and folded over the edges and tapped them down with a hammer, but I saw someone using pliers that looked nice!

I picked up mine in Princess Auto's surplus isle- best 20 bucks I ever spent! I used to use a hockey puck to roll the creases down

no decarb!

A "Hardwood Seam Roller" (Amazon search term) works quite well for sealing foil envelopes. That's what was recommended when I got my first roll of foil circa 1985. It has always worked well and I've stuck with the practice.

Thank you guys!! Looking forward to trying my first stainless heat treats!

I was going to make a roller for this with one of the idler wheels from my old grinder, but I found some Crescent hand seamers so cheap I had to try a pair out. Glad I did, as I think it's the best tool for the job- very precise and fast, I can really dial in where whatever atmosphere that's in the pouch will be concentrated, without as much risk of causing holes in the foil

Did my first S-shaped bolster this weekend. The scale to bolster fit up went well, but the dam bolster shifted when peening so one is off by a noticeable amount! Guess this one will be my new EDC. I'll get pics up later.

Pocket fixie in Magnacut all done, waiting for the storm to pass before shipping it to Florida!

Both Magnacut blades:

Small O-1 Paring Knife with Current Composite Liberty Wood handle scales. This is like the older Dymondwood. Less splintery than Dymalux, colors are brighter and the wood itself is harder and doesn't scratch/dent as easily. It is supposed to be able to pass the boil test as well so the grain should raise when exposed to hot water/steam! Decided to use some Mosaic pins for more bling. Current is going to get some pictures of this one for their website to show what the material looks when shaped. I just took it to 600 grit on the belt sander and 800 by hand, then Tung oil on it.

Got this trio finished up too! Orange/Green fabric laminate handles, premade Oyster blank with the tip flattened, Nitro V paring knife and a CPM154 fillet knife:

Started blank prep for my first Stainless Heat Treating! These are Magnacut, 3/32" and 1/8" thick. 2 FBBO and 1 FBBO Reverse Tanto in each thickness, plus 2, 3.25" Drop Points:

And 2 smaller pieces from the end cut offs of the bar that will become smaller 2.5" or so blades, hidden tang style:

So I got 10 blanks out of 6' of Magnacut!

My liquid nitrogen dewar has "speciman holders", so I have to see if these blades will fit into them or not.

Will normal stainless wire work to hang the blades in the Dewar if they won't fit into the holders? I may take some thicker barstock and drill and tap it so I can bolt these blades between 2 thick pieces of bar stock so they don't warp in cryo. Just gotta make sure they can get thru the neck!
