What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

I have been gentle with them so far. This one got my best fastball pitch out into the yard. Next one goes into the side of the barn. Just kidding I couldn't bring myself to, but I tell ya, they tempt me. Those morons and their flap fla flap scracth scratch scratch tap tap tap in my woodstove.

I'm an animal admirer myself, but I see that as pulling a weed.

I know it sounds bad, but some things don't belong.

Id be very gentle, if it was a chick-a-dee, or something like that..... A song bird.

*back story reference..... I have chimney swifts in my unused chimney most years, rearing their young. (Good birds)

I've only got a little suretouch and it's nice but I'd have to say burlap has an awesome pop to it. Once it gets even more hand polished from use it really looks nice.
I'm stuck on the function part, especially when it comes to wet grip. I find myself in the rain quite often and from what it sounds like, Suretouch has the superior grippiness.

I have yet to use Suretouch myself yet, so this is only based on my convos with David.

I snagged the used prevail off the boards the other day and it's my first suretouch. My Riverhawk has texture to it and I'd say the texture is better than the smooth suretouch.

However

The prevail is a little thick in the grip for my hand so I've started to thin it a bit and course suretouch doesn't slip at all. Wet, dry, gloves, wet gloves, soaking wet cold gloves... No slip. It's pretty impressive.

My takeaway is it comes down to how you like your scales. Me I love David's diagonal drum texture and will get it on all future blades.

A curiosity would be to get my texture on suretouch....
