What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

We the determined, have done so much, with so little, for so long, we're now qualified to do anything, with nothing.
That was my senior quote. I thought it sounded cool at the time... Then I spent 13 years as a mechanic in a remote oil field fully appreciating every meaning of that quote. I spent many days wishing I had picked something different 🤣

I too came to appreciate that quote after spending lots of time stomping off road rights of way on storm detail with nothing more than a saw, poles and a tattered 3 strand rope...

There's days I still wonder what I was thinking when taking a job in utility line clearance...

Guys R RSL19 just posted the news about the draw on Instagram. Hundreds or thousand will see it. If you want a chance at this knife I think you will have to act quickly.

To answer the question of whether I will make another: not any time soon, and not like this one.

Christy shot a deer tonight and Chris gave her this knife to skin it, but it hadn’t been sharpened in three years since I made it for him. This is after sharpening and thinning out behind the edge:

I told him I think a wharncliffe isn’t the best choice for skinning. So I drew this up and asked him to give it to her. I scraped off the glue first though lol

I’m hoping she decides she wants one because I want to make one… or seven?
