Why did you not take the serrations all the way to the tip ?

Danny Linguini got it right. You know the Prevail R&D knife you bought from me? Well you may recall that I originally ground the serrations all the way to the tip. Then one day I decided to throw it repeatedly into a stump, which bent the tip a couple times and metal fatigue from bending it back caused it to snap, requiring a regrind. So I opt for stronger tips on my serrated knives now, even if it's not technically incorrect to bring the serrations all the way up. Given my thinner geometry than most production knives, this is what I am most comfortable with going forward.

Thanks for dropping by! It is 8 1/2" overall, with just under 4 1/2" blade, weighing in at 4.8 oz, or 6.4 oz with the sheath. It's an arbitrarily modified version of the Velargo.

 
Work also entails finding a way to store belts without making even more of a mess.

Just reupped on blade and handle grinding belts, and now they are stored.

The reason I ordered when I did was because I was down to under twelve 36 grit belts. That would go with two Hudson bays easily unless I wanted to grind and dip all day.

Then when putting everything away today I noticed I actually still had 18 more of them than I’d realized. 🤣
 
Started a couple regrinds in the evening. Serrata in 440C and Master hunter in 3V almost done. The little folder blade above will be tomorrow. I’m also going to be starting another Hudson Bay and Barax this week. Maybe two Hudson bays. I did just get a bunch of 24 grit belts in and they hog material like … really coarse grinding belts.
