What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

I was thinking about a David Mary kitchen knife 5" or 4" with serrations all the way with Tiger wood, or Zebra Wood, or Olive wood, or Canary wood. Or Blue GripX. Or orange GripX. Or a combination of both. Still thinking about it. Off in the future some time. But I saw pictures on this forum. Can't get it out of my head.

Your tiger must have been a cub. Or that’s one ‘roided out zebra

I was given advice by @Lorien to try this brand and when I asked Tony of Red Label Abrasives over the phone if he had it, he said “yes, for a knife guy, I’m surprised you aren’t already using it”.

Lorien says they cut faster and last longer. Will look at experimenting with higher grit finishes on wood in 2026. No commitments yet! Just a test first.

It's the Best thing ever!
I wet sand toward the end. I dip the sandpaper in my water bucket. It cleans off the gritt, almost makes the sandpaper like new again...

Those of you who know me best are aware that organizing the shop helps me get into the right headspace to make a big batch. And for me, nineteen knives for Empire Outfitters is a big batch. Especially when ten of those are 8” blade 1/4” smiling monsters.

And the thing that has bugged me most this year has been my drawer of disorganized pin stock. Not fully organized yet, but I cut many rods into pins today, including the ones for Empire’s order of course:
