What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

One more step I forgot to mention yesterday was that I still needed to pointify the serrations. That’s done, and then the 120 grit finishes were brought up to coarse, then medium scotchbrite, got the blades taped for molding and boltaron cut for sheaths.

There may be a secret side project in there as well. And if there is, it’s already claimed. But I can make more like it.

Hmmmm....Wonder who that side project maybe for?

This is my first of many im getting from David. He has been super fun to work with and the information and suggestions have been incredibly helpful!
I wanted something fun and beachy/summer/80s-90s surfer vibe. Yes! Im a surfer who is currently too far from the ocean and it is slowly killing me!
David definitely nailed it! I cant wait!

David is an artist who truly cares about his customers and puts 100% of his talent into every knife and is a great guy! Super fun and nice!

David i cant thank you enough!

SharpBits SharpBits you only saw it there because of knife shop Tetris. But here is another pic for you. Whoever gets this is going to pay a very uncompetitive price. These big blades are a ton of work for a post heat treatment grinding maker like me.

This is one badass blade. Can’t wait to see you finish this out. I am jealous of the buyer.

Thank you for the kind words Andrew.

By the way guys, I told him by text that these are literally the best cutting Lucky Dogs yet. Why? Not only is the grind thin on them, but all other guard dogs so far have been 3V or AEB-L from New Jersey Steel Baron. They were .094" stock. These 15N20 ones are from steel that was provided to me by Jarod Todd, and is even thinner than that, by about .012" or so. So visually, if you didn't see it next to another knife in .094", you might mistake it for .094", but it's just enough thinner that the cutting power is magnified. Add to that the fact these are hawkbills, which are notoriously aggressive cutters, and I give you the Dogs with the biggest bite yet.

Because outside these 20, we might not see any Dogs this thin again.
