Whats in Your Private Stash?

Here's my favorite stuff. I've got a supply of nice wood also, but I love fossil ivory more than anything:

As I said before, everything I have is in my private stash... but here are some of my favorites.

Greg, top row fourth from the left. What is that stuff? It is gorgeous! Also what is the solid black horn next to the whitish horn?

It's pretty sad when the only stuff in my private stash was the left over burl you gave me hahaha. I really like that stuff so it's waiting for a special one.

Fourth from the left is Amboyna burl... the black horn is bison... picked up at an antique mall.

I must have over 100, yes 100 sets of mammoth ivory and mammoth tooth scales in all sizes and colours. Sorry no pictures but you can come and count them just about any time. Frank

Frank if you mail them to me, I'll verify the quantity for you. I'm pretty sure atleast some of them will make it back to ya also. ;p

I'm saving up for the gem & fossil show next year. Plan to seriously increase my walrus stash.

Ive got a couple pieces of beautiful stag that are for me, ME. that's it. All the piles of mammoth ivory and amboynya burls are so interesting to look at.

GNiCr4Al4? What's that? I'm intrigued.
GNiCr40Al4. It is some kind of Nuclear Sub non-magnetic aluminum based alloy. Do a BF search on the name.

And you thought I'd never move from plain carbon..... pfft!

Super cool Rick. Have you put any thought into what you're going to build with it? I'd like to see more tests on it's performance. Weird stuff.
Erin
I intend on hot forging to shape and cold forging to increase HRC a few points. The heat treat regime for this stuff is pretty cool... literally. It's all very "private", hence the stash.

Well I'll be... go big or go home, eh? That sounds fascinating. Welcome to the bright side, brother :)

I picked up some decent cocobolo last weekend but nothing that compares to that.

Rick, that will be awesome!

I just ordered some Tony Metsala Mosaic Damascus, "steel #5;" it is private stash material for sure!
