What's in your small fifth pocket?

Change and lint. I tried putting a Vic Manager 2 in there, but the change just keeps accumulating...

I have been buying cargo-type pants/shorts for a while, partly for the flaps on the rear pockets that help hide the pocket clip of my EDC. These style pants delete the watch pocket. The pant companies needs to hire some knife/gun nuts as consultants to help them design their pockets better.

With the cargo pants of course, you gain the two large cargo pockets, but they are useless for carrying anything other than paper. Otherwise, they flop about so badly that you need to put a pair of sports bras around your thighs just to keep your balance when walking.

I'm amazed at the clip-less knives that some of you guys carry in there. The only thing I've ever carried in there (without it falling out) is coins. Come to think of it, every knife that I've ever carried loose in the pocket has fallen out and gotten lost.

I used to EDC a Buck 373 in my watch pocket, now it just travels loose in one of my more accessible pockets.

I usually carry my main edc in that pocket. I've discovered, that if you cut open the stitching at the bottom of your 5th pocket, you can carry even quite a large folder (sometimes I edc an Al Mar Sere 2000 this way).
This has the advantage that you don't have your knife in the main pocket taking up space. It also means your knife is protected from scratchy stuff like keys or coins. The clip also rides higher (closer to your belt) allowing you to conceal it easily under a jumper or t-shirt if you should wish to.
The down side is, if you forget and put some coins in there instead, then they end up in your socks.......

I've thought about doing this. I do have some jeans where the pocket is deep enough to accomodate a medium sized folder, but it digs into my hip and is quite uncomfortable. Doesn't this happen to you?

If it's a really large folder it can be a bit uncomfortable when sitting, but i don't have a problem with it.

This is the way I carry my Gerber Paraframe II. What I do is tilt the folder to the side. It still makes it a little hard to bend the leg, but it minimizes the discomfort by a lot.
