Whats it worth?

exactly. but these guys suggesting that making money on a blade is some how unscrupulous is ridiculous!!! you make a little or a lot here and there and it allows you to keep stepping up higher on the collectors ladder. this garbage of "it doesnt feel right to make money on a busse" is absurd!!!!!! Jerry is making money and im sure he hopes that what comes around goes around!

I have no problem with anyone making money when they sell their property. I can't think of one time I sold my property with the intent to lose money (well there were some guns the wife will not let me forget about, but other than that).

You should hold onto that baby like it is a bar of gold!:D

Wyatt... I sent you a email.... strange to see someone else around here so close to home

Sweet knife, you should use it :)

If it was here it would be leaving for the sand box with me next week.

Some day I'll find a patch, I hope ;)

Thanks for resizing but I wanted everyone to see close up details. That
and my brother was the one who took and posted so I'll just blame him.

Thanks, Wyatt

While there will be those that would argue, I would suggest the the value for the knife by itself would be easily in the $1,000.00 range, with the addition of the Patch and the authentic(many fake copies were made) Dog tag, that this combination is worth about $1,300.00 (I would not sell it for that, I think the value will go higher, I think on the other hand that $1,300.00 would be a fair price to pay for the knife)

Much tougher to come by than the One of Three hundred Battle Mistresses.

Steel Hearts are one of the more commonly collected Busse knives and this one is pretty hard to find.

I would suggest not selling though, get an INFI user of some kind, and know that you have this knife Sitting, sort of like having money in the bank, cept this will most likely gain value faster than interest.

I have also noted the price difference between here and Ebay, but some times the prices on Ebay are too high. Guess it just depends on who is selling.

eBay is funny that way. It's just not consistent. Some knives get driven 'too high' by a committed (or crazy or uninformed bidder), so other sellers try to mark there's up in the same way, expecting lightning to strike twice. Then you have those occasional "Buy it Now" bargains, where the seller did not do enough research on recent market prices. And then some knives just don't move for no apparent reason. I got a bargain on a Basic recently, when the seller took one off the Exchange here, and then put it up on eBay. Seller must have lost money on the swap, but it was good for me. So I keep looking at eBay frequently

only because it's older, not because there was less of these made, because there was a hell of a lot more made.
when these knives were made, the internet was not an option, so it was through magazines and shows that people got their info. I remember these knives at gun shows and I did not know anything about them back then except that they were too expensive for me at the time. But they were made for many years, so the numbers are up, the problem is that the people that bought them were not internet savy and may still not be. I'd bet that the majority of these are sitting in the homes of people that have no clue what they got.

I remember buying one of these used at the LA cnty fairgrounds gun show sometime in 94 and just as quickly reselling it because I could not justify the price to myself back then. Wish I knew then what I know now.

As I stated before the value of this thing is definitely over $1000, and I would say $1300 would not be unreasonable in todays market. KEEP IT, you will regret selling it later.

Coming from someone who recently parted with an older Busse, KEEP IT! Of all the things I've sold/ traded, I regret the older Busse's the most, there is a reason they sell for so much! My rule is to never sell guns or knives unless it's an emergency, or I just don't like them.
Experience has shown that cash comes and goes, but knives and guns will always be there!

Et tu Chuck? `:D Which do you want to be, the pot or the kettle? :D

I have never and will never go to a show buy something and turn around a week later and offer it here for double or triple what I paid for it.
Some people do that every Ganza, Skunk offering or Blade Show...

I may trade something for something else, but I don't do it for profit like some on here do!

BTW..you and Marc can stick that Axe, the Internal Affair and the SH1 where the sun doesn't shine, way back in the safe...

Don't forget to tell Jimmy Mason Thanks too...

I am nothing like you!

Geez, Chuck where did that come from? That sounds like it has building for a while. I am sorry if I have offended you in some way, the pot and kettle thing was completely tongue and cheek man. I don't buy at the shows, ganzas or from skunk to just flip things either. I buy stuff and it gets here, then some I decide I am not keen on, some I find I have over extended myself. Sure I put it up for a profit. That is about the only way I can keep collecting. I often price things higher and I consistently come down until someone decides they want to pay what I have it priced at. I have done plenty of deals for folks behind the scenes at cost or near it, but like anyone else's behind the scenes stuff you won't hear much about it. I like it that way. I never twisted anyone's arm to buy a thing from me. As for the axe deal, I had no idea you were contacting Marc about it. He contacted me and offered it to me, I didn't seek it out. Your displeasure there is misplaced. As for the Internal Affair, I had no idea about that whole mess and I didn't get it from a Jimmy Mason. It must have gone through a few hands between he and I. Had I known how it had come to be available, I surely would never have bought it. I do feel very bad that you got shafted, and I wish I were wealthy enough that I could forget about the sizable sum I paid for it and just send it back to you, I really do. If you are referring to this SH1, what the heck do I have to do with it? The guy asked, I gave an opinion as did many here. Some how I am an A-hole for my opinion. Don't know how that happened, but whatever. When I first started collecting, you helped me out with some really nice pieces and I am eternally grateful. I have tried to do the same for many new folks since then. Anyway, I reiterate I am sorry if I have offended you, not my intention. I am also sorry that I had to back out on the UF you had for sale. I know I did some hemming and hawing which I normally try not to do, but my situation at the time had me a bit stretched. I wasted your time and that was not cool. I am sorry to the rest of the forum that this all suddenly reared it's head. If any of you ever have a problem with me, please send me a message and I will do my level best to reconcile the situation. That is all I have to say on any of these issues, I will now stop hijacking Wyatt's thread about his excellent knife. Wyatt, I hope things work out so that you can keep it.

Also Chuck, I heard through the trough that you are planning to return to the sandbox once again, I sincerely wish you well and a safe return.
