Hey everyone!

So this is a picture of my current EDC; you'll notice something is missing. If you guessed a sturdy knife, you're right! So what do you think would fit in well with my gear? I work in medicine and law enforcement, and everything so far has proven useful off duty.

Kizlyar Ute
Affordable
Sturdy
Glass breaker
Bottle opener :)

That looks like a pretty sweet knife! The glass breaker is a little big, but I like the look for the knife! I've never heard of that company, though...how is their reputation and customer service?

Not sure about their customer service, they are based out of Russia, an established company but until just a few years ago weren't even available in the U.S.

I own a Ute, and especially with the pry tool, I can't imagine ever breaking it. The tip itself is robust, the pry tool would keep me from ever over abusing the tip, and the liner lock is at about 50% lockup, solid, and twice as thick as your standard liners... The thing is built for hard use.
(And has weight to it, if you use it in place of a roll of nickles, you're sure to add some umph to your punch ;) )

I'd reccomend the benchmade triage, I absolutely love mine

glass breaker, seat belt cutter, excellent blade

You've started 57 threads, about half of them asking what you should carry for your job. You still need help figuring it out? Benchmade Triage should work for what you need. When I was a cop many years ago, a Buck 110 in a sheath on my uniform belt was what I carried. Never once needed it. Turns out that cutting seat belts is a pretty infrequent task.

Kizlyar Ute liner
Next to a Buck Vantage Pro:

Next to a Kershaw Blur:

The only other liner I own as thick is the Buck Open Season folding Skinner;

My hand is just shy of 4" across (for reference);

Definitely a well built solid and sturdy knife for around $50.

IMO, I'd ditch the paracord bracelet, the carabiner and the "tactical" pen ( the light does the same thing in respect o f hitting someone with it) and would get one of the surgical scissors like this-one:

They will go trough any material, even a thin sheath metal. You can go more expensive and "professional" with the Raptors if the fancy look flights your kite...

I didn't know there was a rule against how many times you can post; if there is, I will limit my posts. Sorry.

Maybe jc57 was just suggesting that as a professional you may be able to figure out what your own needs are by now. Asking for help is fine, but perhaps, not to so much excess. There is a ton of reading to do around here. That is the best way to learn.
Best of luck.

Worked several hundred wrecks, dozens with injuries, numerous fatalities. Been first on scene for majority of them.

Never once cut a seatbelt. Have broken one window.

Oke, this is whats missing
- Solid small knife, dragonfly or delica or something
- a normal watch without the calculator
- a lighter
- spare battery for torch
- a mobile phone?
- maybe some money? because sometimes money is quite handy, for buying food or a drink or something else, aint easy to chew that paracord [emoji16]

Sorry, I should have mentioned I took the pic with my iPhone. That just happened to be the watch I was wearing that day :P I completely forgot about my wallet! I keep spare batteries in my EDC bag (5.11 messenger) as well as a lighter, but I suppose I should switch my lighter to be in my in person EDC. I usually have a sturdy knife on me, but I've been getting bored of my collection lately ::
