What's My Next Spyderco? Contest/Giveaway!

Well... I found out from use that I'm not really a super steel kinda guy. I use a chainsaw, axe or hatchet where needed. I car camp and would start my fire with a lighter and I'm not going to baton anything to need a super steel. And at work even a bd1 UKPK or a 440a rough rider does fine cutting up an apple.

And I'm OK to admit to myself finally that I just like knives for the fun of them. I think s35/s30 along with quality 440c are a few of my favorites so far. I'll admit that I probably won't ever really be in a situation where Elmax or s90 is going to benefit me.

The other day I cut the crap out of my tomato plants and hydrangeas using 8CR13 that's usually the extent of my knife use around the house.

I enjoy supersteels for the novelty and experience I gain sharpening, using and caring for them but do I need that level of performance? Nope. Generally I only make a few cuts in a day then strop to get the popping edge back so a softer steel works perfectly for me. Some steels are frustrating and time consuming getting them where I want them. You'll find them in my Spyderpac. Easily maintained blades are in my pocket.

Ok 1 more time,how about a Roadie?

I'm going to refer you to thread #52. The choice has been made and it's a model already in production.
I'll post some pics at the end. Still no reason to stop guessing though. Whomever gets it right first gets a Squeak.

Barman this is a terrible contest. Because of you I'm looking through different Spyderco models and finding some I missed that I now want...

The nishijin R2 is my only other guess and then I'm leaving this alone. Can't afford to play anymore. :p

Yes agreed! Boo this contest. You couldn't pick a company with a broader list of knives. lol

Just posting gets an automatic entry for the Goddard sprint so no matter what someone will get this one.
The Squeak was an afterthought just for fun due to the fact I've got three of them laying around and figured the person that finds me my next should get something due to the thread title.
And it seems to have bolstered our Spydernation numbers a bit. ;)

I've already owned the Nishijin R. Also had a skeletonized Almite R. Sadly both are gone now.

The knife I chose is one that I've already owned but have sold. It's a common production model but someone brought back a thread recently that rekindled my interest.

Winner winner chicken dinner. :D
Wayne Goddard sprint winner to be exact.

Random number chosen was 5127. Closest Spydernation member is cchu518 #5188. Congrats I'll shoot you a PM shortly.

The new Spyderco's I chose were a ZDP-189 Nishijin Dragonfly first but to be fair it was on a wishlist from BHQ from before the contest. I just completed the order and received it a couple of weeks ago.
The next two I received at the same time were a G-10 Millie and a camo Millie just because someone bumped the thread about standoffs for the Millie. I had to grab an EDC Millie to tinker with and couldn't decide whether a black or satin blade would look better with the maroon Putman scales I ordered at the same time along with bronze anodized standoffs from BF member Gnoleb. Anyway, the bronze hardware just didn't work well with the maroon so I installed it on the black G-10 Millie and couldn't be happier with the results.
The next I received today was a PPT I got in trade. Happy to have this one back in the lineup, thanks Steve. ;)

Thanks for the participation and to the new Spydernation members. Also thanks to 9blades for the extra attention needed with the new memberships.

A couple of pictures of the Military with Gnoleb's bronze standoffs and deep carry clip.
Pretty sweet. I'll bump that standoff thread with the same pics for future search reference.

Congratulations Cchu!

Thanks for the giveaway Barman. The military is my favorite and I even posted in the recent thread you mentioned... Yours looks fantastic, excellent choice!

Just awesome!!! Thanks Wayne, and Pm'ed. I was just telling Barman that I love trying out new blades in my victory garden every year! AND... that it isn't true with what they say that no good deed goes unpunished.

For good karma sakes and to share the goodness on BF...I'm going to have to do a PIF GAW. 1) It will be a Spyderco 2) I hope that it really does promote users and in the spirit of users knives. From an ergonomic standpoint it's really hard to beat Spyderco. Like everyone else they exceed in form and function and score high on pragmatism! Unfortunately it's not going to be as awesome a a Goddard but I'm going to let fate decide which of the UKPK, Delica or Cara Cara that the winner will receive. I'll try to have it set up by the weekend! Thanks and god bless Barman and BF!

Thank you Chris, I'll ship it in the morning.
I never used the Goddard so please give us your impressions when you put it to work.

Now I'm off to see what's going on in your GAW thread.
