What's Next??? . . . . . A Rat Made Out Of Bacon???. . . What the. . . . ???

Did prior runs of the ratweiler have a differential heat treat? If so, is the differential heat treat part and parcel to the model or will this one be a regular heat treat?

Hey guys, for those of you who own/have used other Ratweilers, what's the feel & balance like--say, in comparison to a TGLB or Hellrazor?

They are much more beefy than the TGLBs and HRs. And perform much better as choppers.

I'm pretty sure sure all Busse and Kin knives are through hardened these days.

Noted, thanks Rob

Doesn't look like it has been used for quite a while now. Would there be any noticeable differences between differential and through hardened that you may notice in use? For instance would the blade be more flexible?

No worries mate :) I have a couple of older model Swamp Rats that have a diff heat treat (SR101 steel) and I can't really tell any performance difference from the through hardened ones. They all take and hold a great edge, and are super tough.

I suspected as much--thanks for the confirmation, Rob! I watched a vid of you batonning with an LE... Sure looked beefy... well, the knife, mate. You looked good too.;)

So who has the sr101 version and who likes it? Anyone not really care for the original Ratweiler? I am on the fence w this one mostly bc of the $70 handle upgrades and bc I've never had one before. I am really digging that fuller though! And the bruiser slabs of course! ;)

I've had several. Still have a couple. GREAT camp knives IMO. Good balance, great ergos with the new contouring. Being able to strip an INFI one would be icing on the cake, unless Jerry wants to go ahead and offer a comp finish on this one ;) :D

Love the look and was excited about this until I remembered that the Ratweiler is the only Busse knife that doesn't fit my hand at all. Too bad, what a great looking knife. Good luck to everyone that gets this.

So, does anyone know how this will be offered ? Is it going to be on the swamp rat website ?

I must say I love this idea I've been longing for something like this ,
I will be picking one up
But I can't help but wish it was a chopweiler

Probably my favorite release since the infidu

I have 0 busse/kin at the moment and I had 0 plans of getting any...... Until now.

Just when I thought I was out...... They pull me back in.
