What's on your keys?

I agree with powernoodle, I have a small d-ring that connects/diconnects my ring with 4 keys on it to the toys. The glock 30 stays undercover. I try to avoid anywhere with security checkpoints like courtrooms and such, there never very fun. The last time I was in a courtroom it was in covington, la. to watch a serial killer/rapist being given a life sentence with hard labor and no chance of parole or time off for bad behavior after 6 known victoms. If any of us would have had our toys with us the two balifs would have had a hard time. Though they probally wouldn't have tried very hard to stop anything.

This is true almost anything is viewed as a weapon nowadays I was using my P51 to cut open my orange during lunch and somebody asked my why I had a fighting knife they said it was curved so it could pull viens out or something.

That has got to be the most idiotic thing I have ever heard. I would have asked for a demonstration of that technique.

Maybe carry your keys on one ring, and your toys on another. Then leave your toys in the car when you know you are going through a metal detector.

How do you guys that use the s-biner like them? i have heard a few people say they disliked them as they found stuff would come off on its own easier.

They work well for my purposes. I have found that they are more effective if the widgets that you attach have a decent sized split-ring on them. For example, I lost my MiniChamp because of the super-small ring, but a slightly larger one allowed it more movement without falling off.

I used an S-biner for a while, I had problems a couple times with its relatively weak wire gates letting it come loose. I use a mini 'biner now, it will NOT come off my beltloop on accident, and it's rated to 22 kN so I can use it for its intended purpose if need be.

I used to use a carabiner to hold my keys on my belt loop but I prefer to have them in my pocket so they don't jingle around.

For over 20 years, I've used a stainless steel 'Secure A Key' clip and simply slip an elastic band around the keys, which silences them.

I like the jingle, it lets me know they're still there!

I kind of have a phobia of losing my keys, so I guess that has something to do with it.

I bought a bunch of those S-Biners in different sizes and will only use them to hold stuff in the small pocket of my backback. I regularly find the items detached and in the bottom of the pocket.
I'd highly recommend NOT using them on your belt loop or anywhere where they'll be dangling in the open because the hinge is WAY too loose and you WILL lose your stuff.

I've been using one of these for years and will continue to do so. It's probably the most secure type I've found. I like how it grips my belt firmly so I place it above my right back pocket. I use it to prevent my Fenix PD20 holster from moving about on my belt by placing the holster between the pants loop above said back pocket and the Secure A Key clip. This thing is always clipped on my pants so I've never had an issue with misplacing my keys. I got mine at a truck stop store years ago.
I've tried and stopped using the Victorinox version because it slides on my belt and the Maxpedition version because the velcro sticks on everything including the inside of my fleece jackets and linings ove my expensive (leather) coats, causing them to pill up and destroy the lining.

Odd...I have never had any real trouble with them...

Hey Dougo, count yourself one of the lucky ones! When I noticed the issue with mine I went searching through various forums and found posts from several people on threads both here as well as EDC Forums and other forums that people have lost items that unclipped from their S-Biners.
I just brought it up here so people who may not have read those other threads could be made aware of the issue.
I know what a PITA it can be when you lose your stuff, and it's even worse when it's due to an item you thought was secure.

All I'm saying is be aware of the potential to lose items clipped to an S-Biner. IMO it's a cool design concept, it justs needs to be made with stronger tensioned springs.

I think I am going to tighten the clip a little bit...just in case.

I found some small brass locking carabiners in a camping supply store. Almost as thin as the wire on some of the S-biners but because it's brass, quite strong. The lock is a screw just as with climbing carabiners, so never accidentally come lose. I use one that goes over my belt, and two hanging from it with my keys and toys. Sometimes a bother to un-screw but I prefer that rather than lose important items. I use one of those Secure-A-Key clips on the outside of my motorcycle jacket, on the belt, to hold only the bike key when I make a quick stop at a store and don't want to put the key onto the regular keyring biner.

I carry my keys on a locking Omega Pacific carabiner. I guess I'm strange, but the only thing I carry on it is keys... I don't even have a Vic Classic hanging out with the keys.

My work keys stay on a smaller (600lbs rated) non-locking carabiner because I need to access them all the time.

I don't like a lot of weight and I have two knives in my pockets and other tools in the car, so I don't feel like I need to hang a tool chest from my pants.
