What's song does your cellphone ring to?

The theme from 'the good, the bad and the ugly' for when certain people call... :)

Though in public, it's on vibrate and I do miss calls occaisonally.

ugh... my new LG has the most powerful vibrate I've ever felt. Not like a video game controller, slow vibrate. This thing feels like an electrical pulse running through your muscles. I've almost gotten used to it, but it still gets me from time to time.

The day after I got it, I had it on vibrate in my pocket and was driving to work. It rang and my leg tensed up, felt like a needle went through my thigh.

This is an interesting thread, and it gives me a chance to post the question from a different perspective.

I'm hearing-impaired, and have been since near birth (if not at birth). As expected, the intensity of sound is somewhat attenuated, but I also have a narrower passband of audible frequencies. Because of that, I ALWAYS have to change my ringer from the standard "beep beep" to something that plays music....and I put it on the highest setting so that I can hear it over the background noise (e.g., in the car). The only exception to that is when I am at work -- I put it on the lowest setting since it is so quiet here that I can hear the ring at that setting.

However, I do know that people tend to be annoyed by the non-standard ringtone ("Spring Concerto #3?", by Vivaldi). Do you have any suggestions for how I can accomodate the environment around me while still satisfying my requirement of being able to hear the phone?

Additional info: I don't carry the phone on my belt or in my pocket (except occasionally), so vibrate is out.

Thanks,

Matthew

Matthew;

I would suggest that if you are in an environment that a ringing cellphone would be annoying, you should set it on vibrate, and drop it in your pocket. After you leave that type of environment, you can return it to your usual ringtone, and carry method.

I just got a new phone, and purchased a Maxpedition case for it. I wear it on my belt, and I have the phone set on vibrate and ring. It only rings after it vibrates for about 10 seconds, and I usually answer it before then.

I have learned to mostly ignore cellphone ringers from others, and actually laugh at some. I also don't have a problem telling people that they are being rude when they are loudly yapping on it while in line someplace, or in a restaurant.

I'm very discreet with my phone while in public, and usually go off someplace to answer it so I'm not a distraction. I wish others would do the same.

"Lips Like Sugar" by Echo & The Bunnymen for my fiancee and "Clubbed To Death" by Rob D for my friends. Generic ringer for everyone else. Most of the time the phone is set to vibrate only.
