What's that you're eating?

Mussels clams calamari shrimp, Sicilian style fra Diablo. on a bed of linguine. And for dessert is apple pie from the local orchard. And then comes a nice cigar. the only thing I used my knife for today was to open the packages of fish which it did a very good job. I didn't have any mineral oil so I washed it with soap and water and then used olive oil? Will that keep rust away? Manga:)IMG_20231028_224706.jpg

Venison works well on pizzas. Not a lot of fat to mess up the crust, and delicious. Excellent flavor.

Ended up with an extra dough, and had some fresh apples, so decided to try some kind of apple dessert pizza. Peanut butter for the sauce, sliced apples, cinnamon and a few random pieces of chocolate. Went so fast I only got a picture of the last slice.

Made the Chinese Chicken Feet Dim Sum dish & it came out pretty well.

The prep involves frying them 1st and then braising them for 1.5 hours in a broth flavored with ginger, garlic, star anise, oyster sauce & rice wine vinegar and service w/a sauce using the braising broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, oyster sauce, pepper & black bean chili oil. I added some leftover sliced Thai chili peppers for extra spice.

The meat was very moist & tender, the meat easily fell off the bones & the bones separated w/o resistance; all of which which is essential to eating them. The chicken feet didn't have the same dark brown color that you'll see in Chinese dim sum restaurants but the taste was otherwise the same.

It's not for everyone but this was the 1st time I ever tried making this dish and IMO it was a success. :)

I would like a touch more info on this delectable dessert, if possible! 😆 is it a cake? Pudding? Baked good?? 🙃
First time I’ve tried it! It’s a “Muffin Over-the-Top Sailor Jack”. Brown sugar, raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. I’d describe it as a very dense sugary spiced cake. It’s not really like anything I’ve had before. It’s ridiculously sweet, but also flavorful. It’s not empty sugar like a LittleDebbie or Hostess product. They really do take several cups of coffee to finish. 😅

Spaghetti.

Using the sauce, I cooked for 4 and half hours, from last week.

Gotta love this Italian dish. I secretly think the reason most recipes are written for huge portions. Is it's expected some of the sauce goes in the freezer. Even at half recipe, I always have enough left over for another meal.
