What's The Best All Around Becker? BK10 Bk9 Bk7 Bk5 Bk2 ?

Nice deer rack! ^^^One you got? Ya i'm loving the 2 also. So thick and powerful. I can't think of a way i could break it. Can think of other things to break with it though.:D Think my next Becker is gonna be the 7 or 9.I'm liking the 2 so much want something just a tad thinner and still be powerful. Should have the $ at end of month.

Hi all,

I new to the BECKER forums having recently acquired my first BECKER.....a BK-14. I must say, I pretty surprised that (the Sleeper) Becker #5 is so popular. As a matter of fact.....I didn't even know there was a BECKER 5. I clicked on this thread thinking the "run away" Becker (all around) favorite would of been the Becker BK16. If anybody has pixs of these two side by side.....I'd love to see em. Thanks.

Here is a photo of all the current production Beckers. The 5 is fourth from the left. The 16 is second from the right.

My favorite is the BK5, hands down. I like the trailing point...it's the slice-iest!!

Dang the 9 is truly a monster. I was wondering if someone could tell me if i got a pair of custom scales for my 2 if they would fit on the 9 or 7 or both, 5 too maybe?

All of the fullsize becker handles are identical, from the RBK through the BK12.

Yes, yes it is. A little too heavy for my taste, which is why I prefer the 5.

All of the fullsize becker handles are identical, from the RBK through the BK12.

And likewise, the tweeners (15, 16, 17) are interchangeable and the 14 and 24 interchange. Only the poor BK11 is by itself...seems like a good argument for a BK21, a BK11 made with D2 or similar steel....

If you can't do it with a 5 it isn't worth doing.

Hi all,

GSO, thanks for posting the pix. Man, I didn't realize how large the FIVE is compared to the BK16. To me, it looks like a overbuilt modern version of an
Ol' Skool "Old Hickory" Butcher knife. I must say, the FIVE looks nice! I like it! The largest knife I own is an old "Blackie Collins" (RIP) 12" Bowie blade as pictured here :

The "D" handle broke some time ago and last year, I sent this "Knife/small Machete" to Ontario and they replaced the Handle (not "D" handle) sharpened the blade and even included a sweet new Sheath! Awesome customer service!

The 15 calls to me.....
... that would be a fine knife for any young fisherman.

Hi all,

Thanks UP for pix. Funny, the BK16 looks almost small next to the 5. I believe that I would personally get more use out of the BK16 than the BK5 (as cool as it is). Of course that has never stopped me from buying something before.

My rational side is in total agreement. I might snatch up a 15 one of these days also, you never know.

No. I found it as it died. It jammed its rack in the tree and it couldn't get out. The coyotes ate him from the arse on up.

Ended up getting a 9 and 11 on the exchange yesterday.:D Should be here tomarrow with UPS(hopefully). If it is gonna probably take it in the woods and beat on some tree's and do some batoning, maybe gut some fish with it for the hell of it too if can get any. The 5 is probably going to be with me a month from now too. Will take after action photo's.

That would have been a really nice buck to get hunting. here's the one i got last year. Hopefully i'll get one with a more impressive rack this year. Might be only able to shoot doe's this year though maybe. That's a crazy story was the rest off the deer connected to the head and rack in the tree when you came across it?
